Berkeley is at a boiling point. Student workers at Cal are staging daily walkouts; homeless people are dying in the streets; BUSD students are fighting daily battles for representation and safety; families are struggling to survive. Donald Trump’s election has emboldened a dangerous subset of our nation intent on rolling back our basic human rights. The recent wave of openly violent white supremacist gatherings outside of Berkeley High DEMANDS a response from BUSD and the City of Berkeley.
