Cannabis Activists in the Central Valley: Listen Up! The City of Merced is going to try to prohibit any and all cannabis commerce in their town, and I guess Governor Jerry Brown has given all California towns a deadline for enacting their own legislation. It means, that our City Council is acting fast, and they are on the complete wrong side of this issue -- they will happily stand in the way of people and God's greatest medicine. It means, they want to continue the old paradigm of prohibition. On Wednesday, December 9th, there will be a public hearing on the issue, and I think we should all do a few things. #1 Call the City Planning office and ask to be put on the agenda to speak (the Sisters are doing that), but more importantly, (#2) come! It's December 9th at 678 W. 18th Street, in Merced. Come from Fresno, come from Stockton, come from everywhere in the central valley because we have to nip this in the bud. We haven't made all this progress with the Federal Government, just to let our hick representatives continue the insanity. #3 Get others to come. Anyone using cannabis for pain must come out and demand their right to safe access. The growers must come. They have a right to not have their careers blocked. C'mon folks. December 9th. Merced. Be there, or be square. (PS Everyone who comes gets a free tin of salve from the Sisters.)
