Gilroy Pot Dispensary Owner Cited Twice
MediLeaf Clinic Opened Without City Permission
GILROY, Calif. -- The owner of a medical marijuana dispensary that opened in Gilroy was cited for contempt of court for not complying with an inspection warrant, Action News has learned.
Goyko Kuburovich, 49, who owns MediLeaf, said he was cited twice for allegedly not complying with an inspection warrant.
But Kuburovich told Action News that he complied with all court orders in the case involving MediaLeaf, and that he was never properly served the first citation.
The city of Gilroy issued a cease-and-desist order against Kuburovich's MediLeaf just days after the dispensary opened on Nov. 9.
The order was ignored by MediLeaf's owners, and the city then filed court documents to shut down the dispensary on Nov. 20.
A judge is set to hold a hearing on the issue Dec. 14 in San Jose.
