With added pressures from the financial crisis and spikes in global food and fuel costs since Fall 2007, the poor in the poorer developing countries are faced with losing much relied upon foreign aid and emergency assistance. Dr. Christopher Delgado from the World Bank discusses the context and causes of the global food crisis and the future for international development efforts for increased food security in the countries hit hardest.
