ASA SF ACTION ALERT:
San Francisco Board of Supervisors to Vote on Important Resolutions
TOMORROW Tuesday, February 26th 4p.m.
WHO: Patients, Supporters and Allies
WHAT: Board of Supervisors to vote on resolutions that protect dispensaries from
closure
WHEN: Tuesday, February 26th 2 PM at SF City Hall
WHERE: San Francisco City Hall 2nd Floor
WHY: These two resolutions greatly benefit the patient community in San Francisco.
The first resolution actively condemns the DEA for its cowardly letter-writing
campaign that has threatened to shut down safe access in the City. The second
declares that the City will not close down collectives at least until we have an
ordinance that reflects the deadline extension necessary to protect ourselves from
Federal Intervention.
ITEM 52: Condemning Drug Enforcement Agency Actions Against Property Owners
Leasing Space to Medical Cannabis Dispensaries
ITEM 57: A resolution Declaring Intent of the City And County of San Francisco
with regard to Pending Legislation amending the Medical Cannabis Act of 2005.
These pieces of legislation are on the "For Adoption Without Committee Reference"
part of the agenda, which means that the items will probably not be heard until
after 4p.m. (Remember, they can switch it on us at any time!)
If you would like to speak, you must do so during Public Comment. Please fill out a
speaker card available at the front of the Board of Supervisors Chambers in City
Hall.
Here is a sample statement. Please feel free to revise it and use it at the hearing.

"Hello, my name is _________________, and I work with Americans for Safe Access, San
Francisco/East Bay . Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak on this
important issue. I am a patient/supporter/San Francisco resident. Medical Cannabis
facilities are in the process of becoming city-sanctioned, legal operations. It is
crucial that the DEA does not interfere with this process. Please vote yes on Items
52 and 57. Thank you."
