Sista Cynthia is gonna run for President!
Run, Cynthia, Run!
OAKLAND, CA - This is a scoop folks.
Someones gotta start the buzz, and I guess it's gonna be me. It's
not like me saying I know she's gonna run is the same as her making an official
announcement, so nobody should sweat that I'm giving up some great secret.
I'm jazzed! Sista Cynthia McKinney, former U. S. Congresswoman from Georgia,
is gonna jump from the Democratic Party and throw her hat in the ring for the Green
Party's nomination for President.
Sista Cynthia held forth at the the West Oakland Library last nite. She was simply
magnificent. Folks who don't know her well yet, need to know.
McKinney's entry into the Green Party's primary will instantly increase
the profile of our Party's nomination process. If Ralph Nader also decides
to enter our primary this time, we will have two national figures capable of drawing
crowds to their campaigns. That's not to slight any of the other excellent
candidates in the primary who have yet to become well known, and who will also contribute
to the discourse, and actually also benefit from the increased attention to our
primary.
I'm gonna come out early with my endorsement of sista Cynthia though. I believe
that she's gonna prove to be our best choice for Green Party standard bearer.
I think she can win our primary, and unite and inspire Greens for the general election.
Like Peter Camejo here in California, Cynthia can get a hearing from communities
that Greens don't usually reach, and help us build and broaden the party.
One thing is, you know sista Cynthia is gonna be a lightning rod. Fox news, the
radical right, and the Zionists will attack her viciously. I think this will all
be to the good! Lot's of free publicity. Also, since sista Cynthia is a warrior,
we don't need to worry about her more than holding her own. She has the skills
of a seasoned politician, is brilliant and well versed on all issues (domestic and
foreign policy), is an orator, has tons of charisma, and is truly from the people's
movements. She's also got the courage to speak truth to power, which Greens
need from all our candidates. Frankly, I don't think we Greens could ask for
a better candidate for President.
Look for an official announcement by the end of this weekend.

The Green Party may yet survive--
We will demand a debate and get heard this time!

Why is it that politicos jump from one of the two major parties' ships when they don't get the power/money/influence they feel they are entitled to? Certainly, her going to the Green Party is fine for some. But, I would like to see a viable group of political parties that offer an honest approach to their politics. While, I would prefer a fiscally conservative party that eschews militarism and respects civil and human rights, some others might want a party that allows corporations to profit for the good of those that invest in them or maybe a party that caters to kin color. as long as it is above board, I am fine with that. But, if we have ex-politicos from the major parities poaching any start-up third party, you end up with Lieberman syndrome and no net change. Cynthia may be a good person, but is still a political hack in my mind.
But didn't she already send the Greens a letter saying she wasn't going to pursue a Green Party nomination at this time?? If she changed her mind, that's cool, but I could have sworn that came out officialy like last month or something.
Just heard her speak tonight. She IS running as the Green Party candidate for President, and she is awesome. She speaks the truth about the government, is courageous, articulate, and can get the votes and attention needed to put the Green Party on the map.

Cynthia McKinney Audit Report
Filed under: FEC and Federal Campaign Finance Law — The Skeptic @ 10:36 am
The Audit Report for Cynthia McKinney’s campaign committee has been released. The committee accepted excessive contributions, which it did not fix through redesignation or reattribution, and filed erroneous reports (significantly understating activity in 2006 and 2005) which it has not adequately amended, according to the FEC.
Since the FEC does not have the authority to randomly audit committees (thank you Wayne Hays, too bad about the stripper) this would be an audit for cause, provoked because the Committee was making lots of mistakes in their filings and accruing “audit points” with the FEC. During this audit, the committee would have received an interim audit report and would have seen what the FEC found - and been given an opportunity to make a counterargument or fix the errors. It seems from the report that they didn’t really take care of business.
Expect The Man to impose a fine.
