Oct 21st Indoor Rally Cals for Freedom Now for Mumia Abu-Jamal
Activists Put Pressure On With Regular Rallies to Demand Mumia's Freedom
On Saturday October 21st, an indoor rally to call for freedom for Mumia Abu-Jamal took place at the YWCA's Ehmann Hall, at 1515 Webster St. in Oakland, from 2-4:30pm. This event was organized by the Partisan Defense Committee and Labor Black League for Social Defense. They say that Mumia's life is in danger, and now is the time to organize. Scheduled speakers included: Mumia's sister Lydia Barashango; Don Cane of the Labor Black League for Social Defense, Oakland; Chris Fisher, representative of AFSCME Local 444, Oakland; and Stuart Hanlon, who was the attorney for Geronimo ji Jaga (Pratt).
