About 500 defenders of women's rights attempted to counter a mobilization of nearly 10,000 anti-choice crusaders in San Francisco today.
About 500 defenders of women's rights attempted to counter a mobilization of nearly 10,000 anti-choice crusaders in San Francisco today. Organized by Catholic church organizations across the entire Western Region, these modern day religious warriors arrived here in the "unholy land" confident that abortion will soon be outlawed across much of the country.
"We're here today because abortion is a right, not a choice,'' said Maya Jones of Oakland, a volunteer with the anti-war group Not in Our Name. The only reason the "pro-life" entity is so huge is because they don't believe in sex education or using condoms.

You young girls that think u know what side you are on. I say to you as a mother of 3 keep living, because you will see that in your life time the rights you think that you have will be taken from you slowly. Lets get real they will not stop with choice they want to take your birth control and then tell you you dont need to be paid the same as a man for the same work because he has a family that he has to take care of. This was the way for so many years but i am sure you know it all and are saying to yourself that will never happen they just want to give every child the right to life I say to you keep living i will see you on the other side of the street sooner then you think are maybe in some form of a jail as free of speach is out the window.

The "pro-life" movement is loud and visible, but they've been protesting, and funding (and I do mean funding) and acting angry actively since 1980, I think. But their numbers aren't nearly as big as they would have you believe.
Prisons are full to overflowing as never before, full of men born to mothers who got pregnant young and by accident, and were stuck raising the child in a poor, sad environment. Yet I've never once heard a valid argument on what to do with all of the unwanted kids who grow up angry.
