San Francisco Patient/Neighborhood Alliance Meeting

I. Introduction (15 min)
A. Ground Rules

B. Why we called this meeting
1.To ensure community involvement in dispensary regulations
2. To provide a platform for neighborhoods and patients to discuss common issues
3. To create an ordinance that represents the interests of the entire community
C. Introduce Forum Format
1. Three focus groups
2. Introduce facilitators
3. First Hour of focus group-deliberation
4. Second Hour focus group-establish key issues
5. Vote at the end of the meeting on key issues from focus groups
II. Focus Groups (45 min)
· facilitators must remind groups of ground rules and appoint a time keeper and scribe
A. Neighborhood Peace Plan
1. What are the common concerns of patients and neighbors?
2. What is a good neighbor?
B. Conflict Resolution Models
1. Community based models
2. Neighborhood/Patient Grievance resolution
C. Regulation Models
1. Look at existing models around California
2. Find key elements to avoid and to support
III. Break (15 min)
A .Letter writing campaign.
1. Letters to Fong and DA about Arc meeting
2. Letters urging differentiation between collectives and dispensaries
3. Letters to mayor and City Supervisors urging patient and neighborhood input
IV. Focus Group Part II (45 min)
A. Focus groups A and B –establish key issues to vote on
B. Focus group C look at existing proposals in S.F.
V. Vote (30 min)
VI. Conclusion
