Here are some pictures from the 34th People's Park Anniversary

People's Park is a stretch of land South Side of the UC Berkeley campus, with rich history tied to the many movements of the late 1960's, most specifically the Free Speech Movement. 34 years ago the people took over this land and made it their own, it has since been a place of freedom and acceptance. We celebrate the Anniversary with a party like no other. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Host: Wavy Gravy SPEAKERS: Barbara Lee (Representative), David Hilliard (Black Panther Party), Ed Rosenthal (Marijuana Activist), Michael Delacour (Activist), Free Speech Sessions, and speakers from many community organizations including: California Peace Action; Western States Legal Foundation, The Arab Anti Discrimination Committee, The Bio Diesel Collective, The Emma Goldman Papers Project, The IWW, and Earth First. LIVE PERFORMANCES: Clan Dyken, The F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.S., Big Brutha Soul, David Rovics, Carol Denney, The X-Plicit Players, Fat Chance Belly Dance, and Country Joe. POETS: Julia Vinograd, Anima, Kirk Lumpkin OTHER ACTIVITIES: Skate Park by 510 Skateboarding,, Food from Food Not Bombs will be served to everyone, and Roots Of Peace will be planting a flower garden with the community.

The 200 or so people who showed up for the Peoples' Park anniversary celebration on a rainy day is about 180 more than show up for any pro-war rally no matter how nice the weather is. For example, check out the College Pampered Rich Brats' so-called event the day before to support the drunken, coked-out pampered rich brat who occupies the White House. Is this what the N'Sync fan base has been reduced to?
