Palo Alto: Silent Vigil for Gaza and Ukraine

Date:
Friday, March 29, 2024
Time:
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Event Type:
Vigil/Ritual
Organizer/Author:
Angela
Location Details:
855 El Camino, Palo Alto, CA
corner of Embarcadero and El Camino, on the public sidewalk just outside Town & Country Village, in front of the big lamppost "sign"

Every Friday noon-1 the women & men of WILPF (Women's Intl. League for Peace & Freedom) and other peace and justice activists stand silently at the Palo Alto corner of El Camino and Embarcadero on the public sidewalk outside Town & Country Village shopping center with signs and banners (which "speak" for us in Quaker tradition). Rain showers or sunny days we come in peace for peace. Our signs and banners are to share. While our major focus is on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, we also honor Women's History Month. We stand for environmental issues to save our planet's threatened resources - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the creatures of the earth, and for our childrens' future.

Come join us every Friday. It's just an hour and you'll be glad you came.
