"This Land is Your Land," by Woody Guthrie, performed by the Oakland Symphony

By Lynda Carson - July 4, 2020

Oakland - During this July 4th holiday as the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic is raging in Oakland, Alameda County, and across our nation leaving thousands of people sick and dead in its wake, the Oakland Symphony has still managed to come up with something quite beautiful for all of us.

The Musicians of the Oakland Symphony (MOFOS) put together a beautiful music video of "This Land is Your Land," by Woody Guthrie, a known socialist or communist, instead of their usual fireworks concert.

Special thanks to my dear friend Michael Graham, cellist with the Oakland Symphony, who was part of this performance.

Michael sent me the link to the video of this wonderful performance, and told me to feel free to share it with others for this 4th of July holiday, during the midst of Covid-19 that is raging across the nation.
