What if we told you there are reasons for optimism about solving global warming?

You would be all ears, and on Sunday, February 24, you can also use your eyes to view a video based on the book "Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming". The 2017 video, which offers up some of those reasons, mostly consists of a talk (with ample visuals) by bay area-based author and visionary Paul Hawken, who edited the book.

"Drawdown" is a product of Project Drawdown which, as its web site describes, consists of "a qualified and diverse group of researchers from around the world to identify, research, and model the 100 most substantive, existing solutions to address climate change." These leading scientists and policymakers have done extensive work finding ways to reverse global warming, and the video of "Drawdown" will reveal a multitude of ideas. We will show the first 50 minutes, and stop at its Q and A portion so that those of us attending can have our own discussion about it.

The February 24 screening will be at 7 PM at the Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, 300 E. Santa Inez Avenue (at Ellsworth) in San Mateo. Admission is free, contributions welcome. The UUSM is wheelchair accessible.

Join us to learn about how many possibly surprising complexities affect our climate , and further introduce yourself to ideas of solution-based work This will include an update on current bipartisan global warming-related legislation in Congress.

Free, contributions welcome.
