Viva Fidel's Cuba

by DLi
Cuba's Fidel Castro passed away yesterday at 90, but under his leadership, Cuba achieved the best health and educational system in Latin America. This is in spite of a US-imposed Trillion-Dollar embargo that Uncle Sam used to try strangling the small Caribbean nation of 11 million heroic citizens.
But perhaps the most critical achievement of the Cuban Revolution is that it broke the century-long US Imperialist military intervention all over the Western Hemisphere. After surviving more than 5 decades of military attacks, assassination attempts at her jefe maximo, repeated support of Miami-based terrorists who killed and maimed innocent civilians and continual destabilization campaigns, Cuba's valiant defiance forced Washington to accept recognition of Cuba a s a sovereign nation. This is the direct result of socialist Cuban Revolution's steadfast dedication to income equality and the dignity of the working class, and no amount of Corporate-bin-Laden spin could deceive that truth from Americas' masses.

Moreover, Cuba's material and human assistance to Africa directly helped to usher in the historic end of apartheid in Nelson Mandela's South Africa. This is International Solidarity at its finest.

Even Havana's most intractable nemesis, the crumbling and Clunkered Capitalist country of USA could learn valuable lessons in democratic governance and collective development from south of the border in 2016.

One of the great leaders of the twentieth century and un poco beyond. Always with the marginalized and under privileged people of the world. Truly a visionary and world citizen whose intellect and courage reach far beyond the confines of present world conditions. If this planet has a future it must incorporate much of the teachings and aspirations of this heroic leader of the Cuban people and and the world beyond. Fidel Castro's mark upon the global society is indelible and swings toward Peace and Justice for all peoples, everywhere. A world community is his goal and there are no alternatives. amene
