This Veterans Day, please join Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), Civilian-Soldier Alliance, and the Center for Political Education for an exhibition of the War is Trauma portfolio, a series of of handmade prints produced by the Justseeds Artists' Cooperative in collaboration with IVAW.

The War is Trauma portfolio transpired out of a street poster project called "Operation Recovery" - a campaign to stop the deployment of traumatized troops and win service members and veterans right to heal. The event will feature a panel discussion and tribute to Jacob George, an IVAW member and three-tour veteran of America’s last decade-plus of war, who recently committed suicide.

Soldiers are the "boots on the ground" that pundits love to talk about, but they are also people. While Veterans' suicide rates are still off the charts, the US is turning again to war in Iraq--further deepening the disaster it created. IVAW continues to call for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq and reparations for all damages as well as full benefits, adequate healthcare (including mental health), and other supports for returning servicemen and women.
