Internation Child Trafficking Through San Diego Courts: Parents Seek Secret Records

An Alabama mother is among thousands of U.S. parents seeking official records to help with the return of their children who were sold into foreign child slavery. Tammy Rief was living with her son Jonah in Alabama when a Colorado man went to San Diego, California, in order to receive judicial approval for acquiring the boy to take out of the country for purposes of a sale. The man was unrelated to the boy and to Tammy but had lots of third world ties.

By the time Tammy realized what was happening, the traffickers had taken her child and secretly adopted the child without any notice to her said adoption and this all happened through the San Diego Court System. The adoption was so hidden that even California state officials cannot get a copy of the adoption records.. The mother was told she would never get a copy by a county clerk. The traffickers, using a fake birth passport bearing the name Sullivan, took the boy to Australia on February 26, 2013. Nude photos of the boy went up on the traffickers' Facebook pages. Jonah, himself, disappeared after entering Australia on February 26, 2013.

Partial files that have been obtained reveal that the judges involved were Gregory Pollack, Eugenia Eyherabide and Kenneth So. After Tammy started working with the State Department in an attempt to get back her child, she was grabbed on the East Coast by San Diego authorities, held in detention for 91 days and brought back to San Diego for secret proceedings. Even her current attorney has been refused what should be publicrecords. Most of the files in her case have disappeared.

Court watchers have seen this before. It is called sanitization. When the record shows substantial misconduct, parts are redacted or hidden and sometimes whole files are hidden. Experts on trafficking say that Jonah's case is nothing out of the ordinary and this happens all the time. San Diego is the hub for the U.S. trafficking of children to foreign lands and that is well known among trafficking experts.

Will Tammy get the necessary paperwork to retrieve her son from Australia or wherever he currently is located? Jonah was four when he was stolen from his mother and is now six years old. Tammy has been told by people tied to the traffickers that her son is dead but she refuses to believe that. She feels in heart that the son she carried, raised and loved is still alive. People who have watched this case unfold are praying for the boy's safe return to his mother.

Court-watcher Jennifer has stated, "Tammy is one of the best mom's we've seen. She loves her son so much and this case has been heart-breaking."
