Day One Occupy The Farm 5 11 13 Albany Gill Tract Farm
The Southern part of the Gill Tract is in danger of being zoned differently than the northern part, Whole Foods dropped their bid, there has been an ongoing community battle for the proper usage of this farmland. It is the last of the A1 type land [agriculture,] in the east bay. The community at large would like to see the farm drop GMO and corporate sponsorship, and not sell the land to commercial real estate developers. Rather than grow GMO fava, corn and let the land waste with wild mustard, OCCUPY THE FARM puts the community volunteers at work to produce ecosynthesis, and what some scholars describe as eco-cohesion or growing many different kinds of things in one plot or field to strengthen the land rather than destroy it with mono-cropping.
