Saying "No More War on Women" in the California Capital
In every state across the nation (barring Mississippi and North Dakota) weekend rallies against the War on Women took place with enthusiastic participants. In the California state capital of Sacramento, hundreds marched through the downtown area after rallying on the steps of the capitol building. One lone counter-protester was not ignored. Several women gave him the word, telling him it was time to face the reality of equality.
In California, women, men and children took part in a national day of action for women's rights this past weekend. Hundreds gathered for a rally on the steps of the capitol building, then marched through downtown Sacramento. Other Californians gathered at a similar event in downtown Los Angeles.
Related demonstrations were planned in almost every state in the US on the same Saturday. The missing states were North Dakota and Mississippi.
At all locations (in some states at multiple locations) demonstrators stood in support of women's rights and equality. In some states women are still charged more for health insurance than men. In every state a women's right to abortion is endangered. In Sacramento one lone counter-protester was spotted with the sign "Abortion is the Real War on Women." Several women who had come to support women's abortion rights gave him the word about respecting equality and "getting real".
