March 11, 2012 is the first anniversary of the disaster in Fukushima including the massive loss of life and the continuing radioactive contamination of the people of Fukushima, Japan and the world.
The 300,000 children of Fukushima are continuing to be contaminated and the government and TEPCO refuses to
pay for their evacuation. People around the world are commemorating this event and working to make sure that it never happens again. In California there are two aging nuclear plants at San Onofre and Diablo Canyon built on earthquake faults and the San Onofre plant has the highest rate of accidents and health and safety problems of any plant in the United States. Companies like Bechtel, PG&E, Southern California Edison and GE continue to push and profit from nuclear power building and decontamination after meltdowns while retaliating against safety whistleblowers.
We the people of Northern California need to commemorate this day and work to end the contamination of the world
Also there will be a rally at Bechtel headquarters 50 Beal St/Mission on Sunday March 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon with
march to Japanese Consulate on 50 Fremont St. San Francisco
Sponsored by No Nukes Action Committee, Labor Video Project
