Wed, Aug 10 - Wed, Aug 17 | $65 members | $75 nonmembers Wednesdays, August 10 & 17, 2011 6-9pm Register here: http://sweetbeansnrice.eventbrite.com/ Generate writing located within or based on an Asian-Latino cultural expression. Participants will write poems and stories based on found objects from our online living archive of images, recipes, and other ephemera. The final class includes a performance for an invited audience. In the mean time, participate in an online Treasure Hunt: A Living Archive Let's create a thriving, living archive of an Asian-Latino future. Our online archive will document the convergences that Asians-Latinos create: whether it's a story about how your Mexican dad met your Japanese mom, or about the snacks you found at the 7 Eleven, we want it all. Challenges and reinterpretations are also welcome. Email curators (sweetbeans@theintersection.org) your photo, illustration, music, and writing (fiction, poetry, non-fiction, experimental, no more than 500 words) that was found or created based on the monthly treasure hunt assignment. International examples with national relevance are welcome (for example, if you live in the US but your tias are Indonesian-Columbian and make arepas with soy sauce, send it in!)
