Free Mumia Mural installed in Oakland
Artists NMG (Not My Government) and GATS (Graffiti Against The System) in solidarity with political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal, whom was wrongly imprisoned for shooting an officer, recently installed a "FREE MUMIA" mural for Mumia's birthday (April 24, 1954).
Mumia was imprisoned in 1981 and sentenced to death. Before his arrest, he was an activist, radio journalist, and part-time cab driver. He was a member of the Black Panther Party until October 1970.
