This is a very timely event as the situation in Japan unfolds & unleashes radioactive contamination into the air, land, and sea. Moderated by Joanna Macy, 3 Russian women activists with first-hand experience in the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster will speak. Natalia Manzurova, Chernobyl clean-up engineer for 5 years & international advocate for radiation victims; Natalia Mironova, world renowned anti-nuclear organizer; and Tatiana Mukhamedyarova, outspoken voice on radiation exposure with the Movement for Nuclear Safety. Plus: US premiere of “Chernobyl4Ever”, a film featuring young people living near Chernobyl. Organized by the Center for Safe Energy of the Earth Island Institute.
