RAGING STORM: Words of the New Generation

This episode of SFT's Renaissance Series will highlight the works of Tashi Rabten (pen name: Theurang), Dhondup Gyal, Gade Tsering, Buddha, Dhonko, Kelsang Jinpa, and Kunga Tsangyang. Tashi Rabten, an editor of Shar Dungri (Eastern Snow Mountain) who was due to graduate last year from the Northwest Nationalities University in Lanzhou, also wrote an unauthorized collection of work on the 2008 Tibetan protests called “Written in Blood.” This episode will also highlight three Tibetan writers – Dhonko, Buddha and Kelsang Jinpa -- who were detained last summer after essays they wrote about the 2008 protests in Tibet and issues of Tibetan culture and identity were published.
