As communities across Northern California are resisting PG$E's wireless Smart Meter installations, Adrienne Lauby and Joy Moore interview Joshua Hart, of Stop Smart Meters, and Rebecca, a San Diego woman disabled by Smart Meters, on the new KPFA Morning Show, January 5, 2011.
After stacks of scientific studies, hundreds of health complaints, various cities and counties passing resolutions and enacting ordinances banning Smart Meters, and months of protests have fallen on deaf ears at PG&E and the California Public Utilities Commission, communities are taking direct action to stop the installation of Smart Meters themselves. They have shut down deployment yards, PG&E payment centers, and organized neighborhood watches and road blocks. http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2010/12/15/18666719.php
Last week two Marin County mothers were arrested for blocking more than half a dozen trucks of PG&E contractor Wellington from entering a West Marin town. http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2010/12/29/18667766.php?show_comments=1
Joshua Hart describes how the Smart Meter grid works and why it's a health hazard. He also talks about how PG&E infiltrated the resistance movement, and how the community is uniting to fight back. Rebecca describes the devastating, disabling impact on her health when Smart Meters were installed at her home.
