Keynote speaker Dr. Rita Nakashima Brock, co-author of "Casting Stones: Prostitution and Liberation in Asia & the United States", of Faith Voices for the Common Good.

While prominent feminists and religious fundamentalists equate prostitution with rape and claim that most sex workers have been trafficked, rapists continue to get away with it – 94% of rapists don’t see a day in jail and only 50% of reported rapes end in arrest*. Trafficking law is primarily used to target immigrant sex workers for arrest and deportation. But a growing international movement for women’s safety, including some feminists who have broken with the moral crusade against prostitution, is supporting sex workers’ demand for decriminalization. *Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network.
