low wage UC service workers continue pressure on Richard Blum, Mr. DiFi
3.9.2010, 9:00 am at GGNRA's Fort Baker in Marin County, nearly a hundred UC service workers, students and supporters from UCB, UCSF, UCSC, UC Davis entered the hired meeting space of Blum Capital Partnership, the Cavallo Point Lodge at Fort Baker in Sausalito, and picketed the street in front. Richard Blum is the big dog of the UC Regents.
The National Park Service finally ordered us off. No arrests but Blum was once again called on his failure to work on poverty here at home. AFSCME advocates for rehiring the workforce, stopping student fee increases, end the privatization scheme and wants Blum and the Regents to stop playing on Wall Street with California citizen-owned assets.
