Black lung lofts. By Patrick Range McDonald LA Weekly 4 March 2010

Many children being raised in L.A.'s hip, new freeway-adjacent housing
are damaged for life, and Los Angeles lawmakers are making no effort to
measure the human health costs of such housing.
In 2004, USC's landmark Children's Health Study made waves nationally,
confirming that thousands of Southern California children living in near
high-traffic roadways were contracting higher levels of crippling asthma
and children living in smoggy areas were suffering impaired lung development.

Glib propaganda fails to mention fact that H1N1 scare was "one of the greatest medical scandals of the century," according to investigation chief
A glib 33 second propaganda ad produced by the Kentucky Department for Public Health portrays skeptics of the swine flu vaccine as raving lunatics, despite the fact that the head of the Council of Europe’s investigation into the 2009 outbreak labeled it “one of the greatest medical scandals of the century.”

     MONEY

"In Germany  back in 1923, a man put all the money he had into a wheelbarrow and  headed to the store to buy a loaf of bread.   But when he got there, the store was closed. He left his  wheelbarrow outside the door, figuring he'd come back when the store  opened, knowing the money in it wasn't worth enough for anyone to bother  stealing.   He was right.   When he came back, all the  money was still there, dumped on the ground, but someone had stolen his  wheelbarrow."

Mon Mar 8 cell phone right-to-know ordinance: We need your voice in San Francisco
You've probably heard about the cell phone right-to-know ordinance that Mayor Gavin Newsom has proposed in San Francisco. EWG strongly supports it -- in fact, we worked closely with Mayor Newsom to develop it! It'll be the first in the nation if it passes -- but we need YOUR HELP to make sure it does.
Your help is critical to pass this ordinance
The City of San Francisco is holding a key hearing in front of the city's Small Business Commission about the proposed ordinance this Monday, March 8 at 5:30 PM. We need local supporters there to say "We care about this information and we want it to be accessible." Or only the voices of businesses will be heard; and we know they will be there in force.
We really need your voice!
Click here to let us know that you want to speak on Monday. renee [at] ewg.org
Here are Monday's details:
Who: You, your friends, your family, and anyone you know who supports the idea of consumer right-to-know and safer cell phones
What: San Francisco Small Business Commission hearing
Where: San Francisco City Hall, Room 400
When: Monday, March 8 at 5:30 PM
RSVP: Click here to let us know you can make it. renee [at] ewg.org
You have the right-to-know about cell phone radiation
This ordinance is a basic right-to-know requirement that would give consumers a phone's radiation information when buying a new cell phone. How else can you make informed, smart choices?
Thank you for speaking up to support this precedent-setting cell phone ordinance. Your voice will make a big difference on Monday -- and might just tip the scales.
We're glad to be partnering with you,

presentation of my program, “Genius Factor: Unlock Your Natural Brilliance To Make More Money And Make A Bigger Difference In The World.”
It was a great turn out and a breakthrough experience for many of those who attended. I’m going to be doing a one-time video screening of “Genius Factor” on:
Tuesday March 9th at 7pm The Authentic SF Building @115 10th St. in San Francisco.
Because this is going to be a product I’ll be showing the video on a large screen and will be answering questions at the end. The audience Q&A will be the only part of the evening to be video recorded, which will serve as bonus to the program.
This way any of you who missed it before will have a final chance to see it and it will also help to create more value for people who want the program.
You can see the 4-minute video trailer of “Genius Factor” right now at:
http://www.authenticmanprogram.com/video.php?v=geniusfactor_trailer&cf=1
The cost to attend is $10. - However if you ask a question I will thank you by handing you $5. And if you give a testimonial at the end I’ll also thank you with $5. -Garrison

Thursday March 11th @ 10 PM (After Ardent Press Book Release!) "PICKAXE" [1999]
The film follows an eclectic mix of activists who take a stand to protect an
old growth forest from logging at Warner Creek in the Willamette National
Forest of Oregon, blockading the logging road and repelling the State Police.
Over months a community builds around the illegal blockade as it develops into
the Cascadia Free State and similar actions spread across the region. Years
after its release, Pickaxe has become a classic document of the potential for
grassroots direct action to achieve victory against the forces of both
government and big business. Lovingly crafted by the participants themselves,
the film expertly presents every moment, from confrontation to celebration.

Ecstasy in San Francisco – Friday March 19 Join us in celebration of Ecstasy at the opening reception:
Friday March 19, 2010 Patricia’s Green at Octavia and Hayes St SF, CA 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Black Rock Arts Foundation is proud to support the installation of Dan Das Mann and Karen Cusolito's sculpture Ecstasy at Patricia’s Green in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, CA. This hopeful, figurative work will be on display, free to the public, from February 7, 2010 till June 18, 2010.
First displayed at the Burning Man festival in Nevada in 2008, Ecstasy is one of the eight monumental metal figures of the artists’ masterpiece, Crude Awakening. In Crude Awakening, these eight figures surrounded a 99-foot tall wooden oil derrick in gestures of prostration, worship and exaltation. Alone, Ecstasy embarks on a hopeful journey. Instead of throwing her head back in reverie to the oil derrick, she gazes wistfully into the open sky as she steps forward into an optimistic future, free of dependency on fossil fuel.
Through our Civic Arts Program, BRAF is pleased to further the evolution of this artwork’s message by exposing it to a new audience and community, and to return to the site of Patricia’s Green. In 2005, this location became of the site of BRAF’s first public art project. Working closely with the residents and business owners of the Hayes Valley neighborhood, BRAF established a model of community collaboration towards the curation and installation of public art. These community members continued to work on bringing art into their neighborhood, forming the Hayes Valley Arts Coalition. The installation of Ecstasy at Patricia’s Green further affirms the success of this collaboration, and of the model of public, temporary art installation.

Anarchist Film Series: ****Free**** every Thursday for the month! @ 9PM 3030 B 16th St SF @ Mission/ Valencia
Thursday March 25th @ 9PM Thursday March 25th @ 9PM "WAS TUN, WENN'S BRENNT?" [2001]
[ English translation: "WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF FIRE?" ]
Set in Berlin, the film opens in 1987 to show a group of radicals battling
police but soon moves to the modern day to present the same radical characters
brought together once more by an act they carried out in their
anti-establishment heyday.
In 1987, the main characters of the film are anarchists squatting in an
abandoned building in Kreuzberg and making propaganda films. In one of these
films, they demonstrate how to make a homemade bomb out of a pressure cooker
and chemicals available over the counter, and they plant the bomb in a vacant
villa in Grunewald. However, the timer sticks, and the bomb does not go off
until 12 years later, when it is jostled by a real estate broker and a
potential buyer. They are injured in the blast, and the police are pressured to
hunt down the "terrorists" responsible.

Crash Course Chapter 3: Exponential Growth Chapter 4: Compounding Is The Problem are you prepared?
http://chrismartenson.com/crashcourse
If you only watch one chapter, start with chapter 16: fuzzy numbers

"In Germany back in 1923, a man put all the money he had into a wheelbarrow and headed to the store to buy a loaf of bread. But when he got there, the store was closed. He left his wheelbarrow outside the door, figuring he'd come back when the store opened, knowing the money in it wasn't worth enough for anyone to bother stealing. He was right. When he came back, all the money was still there, dumped on the ground, but someone had stolen his wheelbarrow."

Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily. No more freedom of speech. Anyone who said something against the government was taken away. We knew many people who were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministers who spoke up.

GUN CONTROL WORKS ask the experts: Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse-Tung, Idi Amin, Kim Jong-il, Qaddafi

Washington didn't use his right to free speech to defeat the British, he shot them.
Most often when a government takes a peoples guns, it then takes their land or their lives.
