San Francisco State Students Occupy Administration Building

by Luz Clemente
Hundreds of students rallied today, November 18th, 2009 and then marched through buildings. As they reached the administration building they joined a simultaneous sit-in that was occurring. The building is now being occupied by students and is being transformed into a place for discourse and critical discussion to protest the budget cuts and redefine education. As students occupy buildings in Vienna and Santa Cruz, struggle against the UC regents meeting in Los Angeles, and the CSU Board of Trustees meeting in Long Beach, San Francisco State Students occupy the institutions of oppression to begin the process of liberation.

Students played music, shared stories, and discussed how we can move forward in this struggle. The gathering and similar actions across the state are continuing to inspire the imaginations of all affected parties.

We join in solidarity with all struggles against the budget cuts including city college and the students at staff, faculty, and workers in k - 12. This action is meant to build for a statewide public sector strike on March 4th. They say Gentrify! We say OCCUPY!

Latest update: The occupation is still going on. Check out the live feed for updates: http://www.justin.tv/sfsunited
