I'm a little puzzled . This event is being sponsored by a Socalist group but the flyer implies that being called a Socialist is a slander ! Naturally Fox inc and others put the most negative and inaccurate spin on the term .
And yes it's both silly and sinister to call Obama a ''red'.
But even their ultra right rants aren't totally lies . For example Van Jones WAS a Socialist . He openly referred to himself and his organization STORM as ' Marxist-Leninist ''. To deny that doesn't hurt the Right wing attack dogs . Actually it sort of helps them because Jones was too public a radical for pooh pooing of that to be credable . The key word though is WAS . Jones sadly has pushed aside his past and has embraced a (non existant ) '' Green Capitalism ''.
I may attend tommorrow's event but i do think you can't fight redbaiting by denying there are any Reds.
