BART reinstates cops and Alameda Board of Supes appoint DA Orloff replacement Nancy O'Malley
Just a quick updates on known developments today...
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors appointed Deputy Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley to replace retiring DA Tom Orloff today. No real thought about it. No deep discussion on what Alameda wants/needs in a DA. Just appoint Orloff's recommendation, and if history is any measure Nancy O'Malley will run unopposed in next year's election for DA.

And this should make a lot of people happy -- way to go BART! Apparently four of the officers on the Fruitvale platform when Oscar Grant and his friends were harassed and abused, and Oscar murdered, were reinstated from their paid leave and have been back on the force all month. BART police officers Noel Flores, Jonathan Guerra, Emery Knudtson, and Jon Woffinden are back on duty while Tony Pirone and Marysol Domenici remain on paid vacation.
