Holdren Forced To Respond To Controversy Over Totalitarian Population Control Proposals
Obama’s top science and technology advisor John P. Holdren has been forced to issue a statement in which he denies advocating the totalitarian population control proposals outlined in his own academic textbook. However, Holdren’s response is a tissue of half-truths, spin and outright lies.

Paulson Threatened Great Depression, Food Riots To Get Bailout Bill Passed

More information has come to light regarding former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson’s threats to Congress last fall that martial law would ensue unless they passed the bailout bill.

The return of the population bomb. By Paul R. Ehrlich, Anne H. Ehrlich Environmental Health News
http://www.environmentalhealthnews.org/ehs/editorial/the-return-of-the-population-bomb
No driver of environmental deterioration is more obvious than population
growth, and none has been more taboo to talk about. A collapse of
civilization now seems ever more likely than it did back in 1968, when
the Population Bomb was written. Population X Technology = Impact (on Earth)
Therefore 300 Million people living a USA lifestyle do FAR more damage than Billions of simple people.

The Money Fix: Film Screening and Discussion $5-15 sliding scale donation
Thursday, July 23rd, 7-9:30pm La Pena Cultural Center 3105 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley @ Woolsey
An exciting evening of stimulating film and discussion about the problems with the current centralized monetary system and new currency solutions proposed in the Bay Area and beyond. Sponsored by the Open Money Foundation, Bay Area Community Exchange, and Sovereign Carbon Community Bank.
Money is at the intersection of nearly every aspect of modern life. Most of us take the monetary system for granted, but it has a profound and largely misunderstood influence on our lives. THE MONEY FIX is a feature-length documentary exploring our society’s relationship with the almighty dollar. THE MONEY FIX examines economic patterning in both the human and the natural worlds, and through this lens we learn how we can empower ourselves by redesigning the lifeblood of the economy at the community level. The film documents three types of alternative money systems, all of which help solve economic problems for the communities in which they operate.. This film will utterly transform the way you perceive money and economics. For more info. contact fieldoheather@yahoo..com

NO SPECTATORS DAY - JULY 31
July 31 is No Spectators Day as officially recognized in San Francisco
by Mayoral Proclamation. We kid you not! True, and we're darned
proud! So ... how will you celebrate?
In San Francisco, meet at Dolores park on Friday 7/31 from 5pm to 8pm
for a park cleanup (we'll have trash-bags and MOOP-sticks); then head
over to Kilowatt (3160 16th St at Guerrero St., SF.) for cocktails and
conversation.
If you live somewhere else, why not organize your own local effort?!
Let your imaginations run amok in the very best of ways. On July 31st
everyone is a Participant! We are encouraging EVERYONE to personally
embody the spirit of No Spectators Day through acts of self-
expression, civic participation, and gifting -- and to make a full
weekend of it! Here are some ideas ...
10 Suggested Things To Do for No Spectators Day/Weekend
1. Commit random acts of kindness and gifting!
2. Adopt-your-block, beach or nearby park - do a neighborhood
cleanup, and involve your neighbors. While you're at it, strike up a
game of sockpuppet croquet!
3. Make public art: Make some art and take it to the streets (but
Leave No Trace)
4. Dress expressively: Create your own Art-Parade – why save that
fairy-turnip princess costume just for the playa?
5. Going away this weekend? Then pack your bags! ... your trash &
recycling bags that is, and take LNT on the road with you! While
you're at it, learn more about the Burning Man Regional Network: http://regionals.burningman.com/
and get involved in other cities!
6. Volunteer for an Arts non-profit – like BRAF http://www.blackrockarts.org
7. Create an art car or bike and go for a ride!
8. Get involved with a Burning Man Art-project – see these links for
artist needs http://www.burningman.com/installations/09_art_brc.html and http://www.burningman.com/installations/09_art_honor.html
9. Engage in acts of civic participation – Burners Without Borders http://www.burnerswithoutborders.org
and Black Rock Solar (http://www.blackrocksolar.org) have some ideas. Or
you may wish to volunteer at a local school, senior center or food
bank, to name a few...
10. Instead of a garage or sidewalk-sale, have an Un-Sale or "Gift-
Away," where you give items away for FREE. That's right ... stand
around like you're having a sale — and surprise people by GIFTING it
all, instead.
Remember, it's No Spectators Day! ... Just Another Day of Burner
Public Participation thru Artistic Creation! Enjoy NOT spectating!
Every Last Friday http://critical-mass.org 5:30pm Justin Herman Plaza Market @ Embarcadero
Bring: Bike, Helmet, costume, snacks, Fliers to share with friends. Last working Friday of EVERY MONTH.
Join our naked contingent as there is no law against being naked in San Francisco.
According to the office of the SF DA: "There is no law against being naked in San Francisco unless
you are lewd or blocking traffic."
Let's break this down: What she meant:
LEWD: A) if you are fully clothed but exposing your wee bits: that is LEWD.
B) if you are manipulating your wee bits with your hands or other implements in public, that is LEWD.
BLOCKING TRAFFIC: WELL WELL, here the DA's office is ACTUALLY AIMING THIS LAW AT CRITICAL MASS:
the idea is: DON'T BLOCK TRAFFIC. This is good advice for Critical Mass in General: RIDE, be happy, be seen, be on your merry way.
PARKS: It is illegal to be naked in parks in SF. There are children in parks. Likely this law is based on fear of pedophiles or predators.
In MY OPINION Critical Mass and Bay to Breakers are unique and advantageous opportunities for nude activism as:
We are part of a large festive flowing body of fun: a parade, a bike ride. This is less threatening in general and cast in a good light.
Please be careful, should you ever be in a parade or bike ride that BottleNecks or pinches near a restaurant or cafe where families / or children are seated or stationary...
DO NOT approach children or force them to view your natural bits as I fear this could test the law. Common sense, yes?
Please discuss amongst yourselves by joining our local email group: by sending a blank email to:
SF_WNBR-subscribe [at] yahoogroups.com
Have you ever thought about going through the streets of San Francisco (not with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas) nude, not having to worry about the police?
As many people know, walking nude across the entire city during Bay To Breakers is possible. Many people though may not be aware that bicycling through the city while nude is also possible, void of police action. How is that? It comes down to the simple concept of "power in numbers."
A few riders from the annual World Naked Bike Ride also participate in San Francisco's monthly Critical Mass. In both events, because of the size of the groups the police do not stop any riders because of nudity. For instance, during World Naked Bike Ride, instead of our group of approximately 60 - 70 being stopped by SFPD, in a few areas (e.g. Columbus Ave., Montgomery St., Market St.) we were given unexpected but much appreciated police escorts.
So anyhoos...though we comprise a very small minority within the Critical Mass mass, we are still a hearty and enthusiastic bunch and are hoping to enlarge our group. We are not necessarily seeking only those who are political activists and whose sole intent with Critical Mass is to protest automobile use and gas consumption. We are also very social, friendly and nice people who enjoy the exhilaration of being able to ride our bicycles through the streets of San Francisco (again, without Karl Malden and Michael Douglas) while being naked (well, maybe not totally naked...I, for example, had on a helmut, gloves, socks, shoes and a backpack) and would love to have other like-minded people (both male and female) ride with us.
If this sounds intriguing, interesting and just plain fun, please reply and I can give you more information. The next Critical Mass will be July 31 and, as always, meets at Justin Herman Plaza.

2009 BLACK ROCK CITY PLAN
We received a great deal of feedback critical of the expanded size of the
2008 city, so it's "deja vu all over again" as we return to nearly the same,
smaller footprint of 2007, in the same BLM-mandated location of the Black
Rock Desert. The distance from the inner-most road to the Man is down from
2700 to just 2100 feet, so a hop, skip, and a jump should get you from theme
camp Esplanade frontage to the Man.
