Prop 8 and the struggle for
LGBT civil rights!

The California Supreme Court will announce its decision on Tuesday, May 26 whether or not it will repeal the homophobic law, Proposition 8, which halted same-sex marriages in the state. LGBT activists and supporters around the country are ready to take to the streets in celebration or protest depending on the outcome. LGBT equality and civil rights are part of a larger struggle for peace and for social justice. Come for discussion and eyewitness reports from the streets.

End the Siege of Gaza!
June 6 marks the 42nd anniversary of the Israeli seizure of Gaza. Organizations and individuals in solidarity with the people of Palestine will be taking to the streets once again to demand: End the Siege of Gaza!

The world looked on in horror this past winter as Israel mercilessly starved and bombed the people of Gaza, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians, at least a third of whom were children. The Arab world now refers to the dark days from the end of December to mid-January as “The Gaza Massacre.” Although the mainstream media no longer focuses on Gaza, the suffering continues there nonetheless. Gaza City still lies in rubble and its citizens are still sleeping in tents.

This Friday’s program will feature a speaker who recently attended the Al-Awda Conference in Southern California where the right of return was a central theme. Join us for a critical analysis of the U.S./Israeli siege of Gaza and the worldwide movement in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
