It looks like they are protesting over taxation, big brother, and demanding civil rights. It's a "tea party" as in the original tea party of the the American revolution where they dumped tea into boston harbor to protest taxes. I don't see anything about immigrants here: http://www.sanjoseteaparty.blogspot.com/
by >;)
Just think of all the things you can bring: pots and pans, whistles, horns, drums, airhorns, piccalo pet's, drum symbols, you bang drum sticks against trash cans and street signs, you blast rap, rock, and punk music from your boomboxes, Stink Bombs, eggs, smoke bombs, mustard & ketchup, water balloons, bullhorns, bass drum, snare drum, tomb drum, loud yelling, god there are so many things you can do. mooning, jumping up and down, singing, do a dancing! hahahahaha

"The Golden Gate Minutemen will be participating in the Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Party rallies across the Bay Area on April 15th. Many of us will be in San Francisco, Fremont, Hayward, San Mateo, etc. We encourage all minutemen and citizens to come out on April 15th and bring your anti illegal immigration signs."

Throwing a lot of antagonistic energy at others without first trying to engage them in thoughtful dialog just shows everyone else who the real tyrants are. You are intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate people so I hope you demonstrate that first..... then kick them to the curb.

I hope you consider my comments thoughtfully too.
thanks,

iv delt with these people before here in the bay and at the democratic national convention

they are uncompromisable, but i do know what your saying and we will do whats necessary what fits the situation,

they are fascist they have the same mind set of hitler only they blame the latino community for our problems here in the usa, they feel the same about immigrants as hitler did and the fascist national party in Russia and all over the world. there is not a lot of talking we can do with out in turning into a shouting match,

we will kick them out of our city even if its just 5 anarchist who show up to help.

by Aaronlove(A) the organiser for this (aaronloveantif [at] yahoo.com)
show up and help we need you, from across the bay to around our cities and communities come and join or tell people you know.
by deanosor (deanosor [at] mailup.net)
...with the TEA PARTY organizers. If they kick out the Minutemen and other racists, we won't fuck up their rally. They want to show how mainstream they are.
by (A)aaronlove
we need to kick them out no matter what.

they are FASCIST! they are the republican national party
"Dialog?" I understand your reasoning and logic but if that we're possible there wouldn't be any racists here in this country because we would be able to talk them out of it. I know their position. We will never be able to convince the minutemen to leave immigrants alone let alone the kkk or the rightwing neo-nazi's of America. None of them will listen. Anybody that has been to their website should understand by now that these people have a very stubborn far right position and so thinking we can some how negotiate with them is nothing but a hilarious joke if you ask me. Did you see all their far right merchandise on their little website? THEY WON'T LISTEN TO US! Like the guy said above, trying to talk sense into people who don't want to listen will only resort to shouting matches. For the record; fascism at any degree will never leave, where ever it lives until you put a stop to it and the longer you wait the stronger it grows and it already has become a serious problem in many communities through out the past and to this day because nobody does anything, well today we put a stop to it. Fascism and Racism must never be given a platform under the guise of free speech. It will never happen. We won't tolerated it.
by (A)aaron love
i better see you there then!!!!

bring a banner if you can!
by rightwinger
Because you're to much of a coward to show your faces. You mental giants wouldn't know the meaning of Fascism if it smacked you in the face. Racist to protest Illegal Immigration that hurts all INCLUDING the people that are Illegals? Do you know there are people, who are Illegal, that are being exploited by working in sweat shops and brothels? Kids being sold, people dying to make it over the border, drug pushers (they're ok though on Indybay) and the like? I guess those are ok with you.

Maybe sticking those slingshots and rocks up your asses might make you see the whole fucking picture instead of what your idiot culture tells you.

Be part of the cure, not part of the sickness.
by (A)
furshure ill see you tommarow then.
by censorship goes both ways
comment by furious asked;

"Why don't we have a kkk march in every town?"

Well for one because the kkk is a rather defunct organization due to lack of enrollment, NOT because they are scared of the big bad leftists with their drums and anti-fa ideologies! Even hardcore skinhead neo-Nazis call the kkk "washouts hiding in bedsheets" and find their platform outdated..

Since when did tea party tax protesters morph into the kkk? In logic this would be called a slippery slope fallacy, when one thing leads to another in an unlikely avalache of events. Maybe someday the Aryan Nations will befriend al Queda and kill anyone who isn't one of their groups, so we should never let them talk to one another! We could get into all sorts of "what if" scenarios when it comes to deciding who gets to talk and exercise freedom of speech (yes, it is a liberal construct, though it is an important to democracy!). In fact, all this hype about protesting and censoring the "fascists" only draws them more publicity!!

Let's see what these big bad fascist anti-taxation tea party folks have to say that is so anti-immigrant;

"The San Jose Tax Day Tea Party is affiliated with the website taxdayteaparty.com. The Tax Day Tea Party organization was created specifically for promoting the 'Tea Party Movement' and is very careful to not dabble in issues outside of the fiscal problems in Washington, including the deficit spending, the pork projects, the long-term instability, the damage to the currency, etc. It is very careful to stay away from divisive social issues like gay marriage, abortion rights, and even gun control. The movement is non-partisan and very intentionally not affiliated with any political party.

Some of you may have seen another site: http://www.teapartyday.com. I'm not linking it. This site was mentioned in a KSFO radio email newsletter and many people saw it there. This site is run by a group called the American Family Association in Tupelo, MS. They are supported by Newt Gingrich - which some of you reading this will think is a good thing, and others will think is a bad thing. The problem is that this organization is an evangelical christian political organization with far broader policy goals than bringing fiscal sanity back to Washington. They support teaching creationism, for example. I'm pointing this out so that those of you who want to be part of the Tea Party movement don't get the idea that the organizers of Tea Parties in general, and the San Jose Tax Day Tea Party, in particular, endorse their social agenda, or are associated with them. This event is listed on their site only because they are getting traffic and I hope people will come to this website to see what we're about."

WOW, that is really racist and anti-immigrant! They are even so hateful and bigoted as to be prejudiced against Newt Gingrich (his ancestors were once ALL IMMIGRANTS!), and look at how white he is! Not white enough for these racists! Furthermore, they are discriminating against creationists, and that will NOT be tolerated in MY city!! Those tea party Nazis should be beaten to death by a mob of anti-fas for even thinking such hateful ideologies!!

Maybe the anti-fas are running out of reasons for their existance and need to find other groups beside the defunct kkk to scapegoat as hatemongers to justify their platform. Sort of like the ADL and Anti-Defamation League, there always needs to be exaggerations of a neo-Nazi skinhead menace to justify their funding as a watchdog group, maybe to assist Homeland Security in spying on actual dissidents who don't follow the neoliberal/neoconservative mantras..

We're still waiting on the Aryan Nations and al Queda cocktail mixer where neo-Nazi skinheads and Islamic jihadists can get together and discuss ways of destroying ZOG (Zionist Occupation Government), though that hasn't happened yet. We'll make sure to send the anti-fas a bulletin detailing the time and place so they can show up and disrupt our terrorist training camp cocktail party whenever it does happen..

There's plenty of horrible, cruel and exploitative practices happening everyday at agribusinesses, meatpacking warehouses and other places that regularly exploit undocumented immigrant workers, though no calls yet from anti-fas for protesting ACTUAL U.S. NAZI CORPORATIONS by these so-called anti-fas, only loud demands to censor the free speech of others who don't think the same..

Censorship is now and will always be the last resort of cowards. Spread your message of anarchism, socialism, primitivism, libertarianism or whatever else "ism" far and wide, and the support that you recieve will be a result of the clarity and depth of your ideas, NOT by how much you try to silence the views of others, regardless of how silly or even dangerous they may be..

The kkk lost their credibility and membership as a result of their foolish ideas and actions, NOT because they were frightened into silence by some protesters. That just shows that people can grow out of silly thinking over time, the protests during the civil rights era were against apartheid policies sanctioned by the states and towns of the south who enforced these policies by light of day, even if some police, businessmen and city officials doubled up as kkk during the night to scare people. Even with that tactic, their ideologies failed and the kkk of today is nearly non-exsistent..

Instead of looking at classism and the common bonds of near poverty shared across all racial lines, our media and certain groups both left and right continue to organize under the banner of race, ethnicity and cultural nationalism, leaving class issues ignored and unresolved. By ignoring economic inequality that crosses racial boundaries, this opens the door for groups like Minutmen to use the poverty of working class Euro-americans displaced from their jobs as fuel for their platform scapegoating immigrants..

People from the center (or anyone openminded enough to see beyond ideology) could try to look beyond the rhetoric of both sides and establish common principles of unity, such as government bailouts of billionaire bankers, NAFTA/WTO spawned inequality and instability, ecosystem collapse from excessive corporate extractions, loss of local food/water/air/land sovereignty from growing corporate monopolies, etc..., and get both sides working together instead of wasting energy fighting potential allies, even if we will always disagree on other points..

It is always easier to throw stones at those we disagre with than to try establishing some dialogue prior to resorting to shouting matches. Furthermore, if some of these tea party folks are indeed slightly brainwashed from watching FOX news channel, since when was yelling at them a cure for their brainwashing??

there tax tea part bull shit is saying that the immigrants are responsible for our economic troubles in America.

plain and simple they are racist anti immigrant nationalistic fascist

by Making sure
Your position is that all Conservatives and all Republicans are racist fascists, right?
The rallies in SF and San Jose are NOT Minutemen events. They are part of the 250 city "Tea Party" meet up demonstrations organized through a conservative Move-On style website. According to their website they are primarily focused on, "the bankrupt liberal agenda of the White House Administration and Congress. Specifically, the flawed “Stimulus Bill” and pork filled budget."
http://taxdayteaparty.com/about/

Essentially this is establishment conservatives in disarray, promoted by Fox News (who will broadcast live from some of the rallies), trying to take advantage of working and middle class popular outrage and fear about the economic crisis. Their anti-Obama/Stimulus Bill position is vague, they have no solutions and they are trying to get taxpayers pissed about the small amounts going help people from losing homes and jobs and not much about the trillions of our money going to the banks and rich.

Golden Gate Minutemen posted to a conservative website that, "Many of us will be in San Francisco, Fremont, Hayward, San Mateo, etc. We encourage all minutemen and citizens to come out on April 15th and bring your anti illegal immigration signs" Who knows how many they will actually turn out and to which of the many Bay Area Tea Party events.

TEA PARTIES
Agence France-Presse describes the Tea Parties:
Pro-Republican organizers say they are plugging into widespread popular anger at Democrat-led Washington.
An even bigger claim is that the catchy "tea party" idea and heavy use of Internet tools like Facebook, YouTube and blogs signals a historic first attempt by Republicans to rival Obama's renowned e-network.
"Conservatives may be catching up with their liberal counterparts in building a Web-driven, grassroots campaign to push their agenda," the Fox News television network said on its website.
"The tea parties don't represent a spontaneous outpouring of public sentiment. They're AstroTurf (fake grass roots) events, manufactured by the usual suspects," liberal economist and Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman said Monday.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hIWJB0EBsIRWMzWP5t9irdVFz-Ew

Fox News wrote today:
As anti-tax protesters organize tea parties across the country on April 15, rumors are swirling that a backlash is brewing. Taxdayteaparty.com, which is helping to organize the protests, said more than 250 locations in all 50 states will hold rallies on April 15. Some believe ACORN will try to make the tea parties look like fringe group efforts at best, and racist undertakings at worst. Mekler said he is not concerned with how outsiders may try to portray their efforts. "The people who are involved understand they're not racist, they're not fringe, they're not even partisan," he said.
ACORN said if there are protesters, it won't be from its ranks. "The idea that ACORN is out to disrupt these meet-ups of fringe activists is yet another conservative fantasy," Kettenring said.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/14/tea-party-protestors-gird-possible-backlash/

Anarchist analyst Noam Chomsky discussed this popular anger yesterday on Democracy Now,
It has a potentially positive side, like it could be like the activism of the 1930s or the 1960s, which ended up making it a more civilized society in many ways, or it could be like an unfortunate precedent that quickly comes to mind. Grievances aren't invented. I mean, for the American population, the last thirty years have been some of the worst in economic history. It's a rich country, but real wages have stagnated or declined, working hours have shot up, benefits have gone down, and people are in real trouble and now in very real trouble after the bubbles burst. And they're angry. And they want to know, "What happened to me? If in the next congressional election the economy has not begun to recover, this kind of populist rage could boil over and could have very dangerous consequences. There's a background of concern and fear, tremendous fear, and searching for some answer, which they're not getting from the establishment. "Who's responsible for my plight?" You know, and that can be exploited. And unless there's active, effective organizing and education, it's dangerous.

A POPULIST ANTI-CAPITALISM
We are at a unique moment in history where capitalism has blatantly failed, we the people in the US, Mexico and Latin America and around the world are hurting, and the government is part of the problem. It's the best opening in my lifetime for radicals, who sounded the alarm ten years ago in the street of Seattle while shutting down the WTO, to offer explanations and solutions-- or remain irrelevant as the Democrats continue business as usual and the right taps into popular discontent.

Last Saturday April 11 the 75 city protest against the bank bailout were organized in online meet up groups in two weeks through the progressive website "A New Way Forward." They describe the problem:
12 million unemployed. Foreclosures up 81%. Wall Street has taken over. We must break up the banks and never again let them get so big that they distort our politics and take down the economy.
They describe their solution:
DECENTRALIZE: Any bank that's "too big to fail" means that it's too big for a free market to function. The financial corporations that caused this mess must be broken up and sold back to the private market with strong, new regulatory and antitrust rules in place -- new banks, managed by new people. An independent regulatory body must protect consumers from predatory practices. As Wall St. corporations grew bigger and bigger until they were “too big to fail,” they also became so politically powerful that they led to distorted and unfair policies that served companies, not citizens. It’s not enough to try to patch up the current system. We demand serious reform that fixes the root problems in our political and economic system: excessive influence of banks, dangerous compensation systems, and massive consolidation. And we demand that the reform happen in an open and transparent manner.

While A New Way Forward, in the tradition of the populist anti-trust movement a hundred years ago, criticize corporate capitalism's excesses; they don't take on this system at the root of our problems. In the US there are lots of signs of resistance, ACORN and others resisting foreclosures, protests against cuts in services, school closings, and layoff’s? But there is no one organizing nationally taking on the system. Two weeks ago at mass protests in London, a general strike in Greece and protests around Europe there was clear anti-capitalist message to the organizing. The main direct action coordinating alliance, G20 Meltdown, wrote:
G20 Meltdown calls for the G20 ministers to own up to their mistakes and admit that their global dominance– the dominance of finance capitalism – is the problem, not the solution to the current economic, ecological and political meltdown. Of its nature, capitalism seeks short-term profits, looking for the fast buck. Logically, we cannot expect from it the vision needed for humanity today.

While 2 million are now out of work in Britain alone, the G20 ministers still resist nationalizing the banks, instead continuing to pour trillions into the black hole of bankers’ bad gambling debts. That money should be put into the hands of those who would spend it immediately on the high street – single mums, students, children in poverty – not on reequipping hedge fund managers’ million-dollar yachts. Those ministers should now make way for government by the people, for the people, of the people, across the planet. Let’s be patriots for the only country we have got: Planet Earth. Only then can we adequately respond to the message of the climate scientists about the clear and present danger to our biosphere, investing in life for our grandchildren, not in death and oil wars. We call on President Obama to remove all US troops from both Iraq and Afghanistan with immediate effect. This will demonstrate his intention to cooperate in establishing a world under the rule of law.

After the London protests establishment columnist Hugo Rifkind criticized the protesters in the UK Times challenging them to, "Propose some sort of feasible alternative to the world economy, instead of just bitching about it and blowing your bloody whistles?
Anti-capitalist and "participatory economics" writer Robin Hahnel responded, "Our answer is simple: we want to empower people to protect themselves and the natural environment from the damage caused by neo-liberal capitalism. But we also want to replace the economics of competition and greed with the economics of equitable co-operation so we are not forever fighting defensive battles to mitigate environmental destruction and economic injustice, and so we need not fear that a crisis such as this will happen again."

More importantly, ideas on how to engage in equitable co-operation have been tested in various real-world experiments over the past few decades. Worker participation and partial ownership in capitalist firms, producer and consumer co-operatives, community-supported agriculture, participatory budgeting (pioneered in Kerala, India, and Porto, Alegre, Brazil), egalitarian and sustainable "intentional" communities, solidarity economics, alternative currency systems and other developments have been stimulated by networking at world and regional social forums, by friendly governments in several Latin American countries , and now by an economic crisis that has abandoned billions to fend for themselves. Most of this has gone unreported in the mainstream media, partly because it does not fit neatly into the framework for economic debate defined by the Cold War so badly, for so long.

Meanwhile, we are also busy building a new economics of equitable co-operation. Some of us build in the realm of ideas, so that when a majoritarian movement is ready it will have a wealth of thoroughly vetted ideas on how to facilitate equitable co-operation to choose from. Many more of us are creating living experiments in equitable co-operation to meet needs that increasingly are going unaddressed by a moribund economic system. Ridicule us if you like. Or you can pitch in and lend a hand."

by e
No actually some of you are just brought up that way "conservative republican" and don't know any better. The only republican I can somewhat agree with but not entirely is Ron Paul and that's about as far as I will ever go. Ron Paul is still a capitalist but he supports ending the drug war and keeping our noses out of other peoples business in other countries. America whether republican or democrat in office has always tried to dominate the lives of other people by supporting and funding dictatorships to make money and I will never forget that. Amerika makes me sick!
by deanosor
...like some people keep claiming, let's test them out. We approach the TEA PARTY organizers in whatever city we're in, with a fairly clean cut looking person, and give them an ultimatum: Get rid of the racists and sexists in their midsts (they and the homophobic American Family Association have said they will be there) or we disrupt their rally. If they do, it will cut their crowd in pieces, and we can beat up the minuteklan and others as they leave. If they don't, we disrupt their rally and point out to the press that they allowed racists and homophobes as part of their coalition. Divide and conquer. Good protestor/bad protestor. They use it many times against leftists. Let's give them a taste fo their own medicine.
by huh
I think that this is an event which anyone is welcome to show up at. I don't think that any of the organizers will have the authority or right to turn away anyone, regardless of their political beliefs.

On a separate note, it is pretty sad to see you advocating splintering groups up and beating up people, seeing as those are the same tactics which "nazis and fascists" apply to homosexuals and others they disagree with. It is disappointing to see that a lot of you are no better than the people you hate so much.
Here is another website which backs up the idea that the immigration groups are planning to attend Tax Day events around the country - probably figuring they'll find likeminded people or be able to feel like their numbers are puffed up.

http://www.alipac.us/article-4130-thread-1-0.html
Any group that aligns them selves with racists will be asking for problems. If you only knew what it implied then maybe you wouldn't be such a sympathizer. FUCK NAZI SYMPATHY

When giving aid to fascists you are no better than them YOUR SELF!
by ORGANIZER
ZERO TOLERANCE!
by ...
Here is one of their forum links with suggested flyers and sign slogans. In the rest of the site, there are several minuteman links: http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-152892.html
I better see a fat turn out of antifa tomorrow >:(
you write something

the minutemen are an anti immigrant group that are alos very far right nationalistic republican there for against high taxes and extra taxes they also blame the economic troubles on the immigrant and the extra taxes are because of the economic crisis so thus they blame it on the immigrants and Latinos

its not rocket science
...some racists are aligning themselves with the tea party. There is a huge difference. And the majority of people who make up the minutemen aren't racist, they are anti ILLEGAL immigrant, whether they are white black or brown. To put in in a perspective maybe you can understand, your hero and savior Obama is also anti ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, as are all of your elected officials.

As far as sympathizing with these people, I have sympathy for anyone whom is going to be the target of unprovoked attacks by a group of masked assailants. I'd challenge you to have the courage to go without your masks and cowardly projectile weapons, but just like the skinheads you hate, you are all too scared to face someone in a fair confrontation.
by my logic
quote
"...some racists are aligning themselves with the tea party. There is a huge difference. "

You are racist for allowing racists to run around with you hello!

quote
"And the majority of people who make up the minutemen aren't racist, they are anti ILLEGAL immigrant, whether they are white black or brown. "

Anarchists don't recognize borders and reject the state and it's laws so just because they are illegal doesn't make it right. You are barking up the wrong tree when going after immigrants legal or not it doesn’t matter to us.

"To put in in a perspective maybe you can understand, your hero and savior Obama is also anti ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, as are all of your elected officials."

Again we are anarchists and so any elected officials don't represent us democrat or republican. We do not believe in hero's such as presidents, governors, mayors, senators, etc, etc. We reject all forms of hierarchy.

"As far as sympathizing with these people, I have sympathy for anyone whom is going to be the target of unprovoked attacks by a group of masked assailants. I'd challenge you to have the courage to go without your masks and cowardly projectile weapons, but just like the skinheads you hate, you are all too scared to face someone in a fair confrontation."

Anarchists mask up to conceal their identity as a means to protect them selves from government harassment / surveillance so we don't have the luxury to protest like the mainstream. As for calling us cowards you should look at your selves in the mirror. You just said if Nazi’s we’re under attack by a group of assailants that you would fight to protect them so now that right there is cowardice. To call your self an activist is absolute hypocrisy and for this you are the No.1 hypocrite not us!

by Cmon
I don't think that the tea party organizers have a choice as to whether they can ban people from showing up. That is like boycotting an organic vegan tofu hotdog stand because a skinhead just got a tofu dog there.

Please explain to me why you don't have the luxury to protest without masks. The teaparty people will be protesting without masks, if all you are planning on doing is protesting, than you don't need masks. Now, if you are planning on beating people up as some have stated, then a mask is important.

"You just said if Nazi’s we’re under attack by a group of assailants that you would fight to protect them so now that right there is cowardice."

This statement, on top of not being true (I didn't say that), makes little sense. How would that make me a coward?

Oh, and do yourself a favor and go back to school. Anarchist or not, anyone who doesn't know how to use were/we're properly is a moron, noe exceptions. Also it appears you need to brush up on punctuation

"noe exeptions" hahaha you can't even spell right when trying to talk shit about my punctuation. hahahahahahaha, now that's funny. what a knee slapper. People come on here using slang, bad punctuation, and bad spelling all the time but most let that kind of thing slide unless your a total asshate republican such as your self who believes you have more of a right to be here than somebody else just because they speak a different language and broke the law by coming here. I can't blame them for coming here because I have something that you don't, called a conscience. I understand why they come here. I know who's to blame. You are only blaming the symptom of a much greater problem that being globalization. I bet you never heard of globalization because if you did you'd shut your mouth.

by no dialogue
Why would an open dialogue not work? What you mean in reality is that your side (an incredibly small fringe group which so far as I can tell advocates the downfall of all government) will never be able to convince everyone else that you are right. The government you despise so much is the only thing which keeps the majority groups which you hate from doing to you what you advocate doing to them.

You do have me pegged though, in so far as I do think that citizens of the US have more right to be here than people who break the law to get here. I understand why they would want to come here, but if we let everyone who wants to come to the US who wants to, then soon enough the US will be a shitty as Mexico (poverty, crime, etc).

Bad grammar and punctuation is a sign of ignorance, and is very unbecoming. While accidentally hitting an "e" at wrong time is not good, it is not indicative of someone's not knowing how to spell "no". Not knowing the difference between "were" and "we're" is something you should have learned in third grade. I guess you were too busy swimming the Rio Grande to take advantage of our educational system. You can probably take some night classes pretty cheap. (Just funnin' ya!)

i don't think most of you who insult us or call us ignorant really know what your talking about or what anarchy is about, before the bank protest the new way forward people thought we were just there to brake shit, when we asked what is anarchy they couldn't answer, I'm sure you couldn't either, or tell us why we don't believe in the line on the map, why we are willing to fight fascism instead of doing the liberal approach to it.
and the fun thing is we go to every protest for every issue from prop 8 to globalization no matter what even when we get insulted by you liberals who know nothing of what ware about and why.

the least you could do is wiki it or if your not lazy read a book or two. and maybe you will understand what we do and why it means the whole fucking world to us.
