Come out to participate in dicussion regarding the events in Oakland and the struggle for economic and social justice for the African community. Learn about the African Village Survival Initiative, practical solutions of community gardening, rainwater harvesting, solar energy, economic development to the economic crisis facing the black community here and everywhere.

Join in solidarity with the struggle of the African community to control their lives, supporting a future of sustainability and justice.

The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement and the African People's Education and Defense Fund will be hosting an event on African Village Survival Initiative focusing on food, water, energy, and economic self-reliance. We want to understand and survive the current economic crisis a begin to plan practical solutions for foreclosure prevention, family food production and building community businesses.

Reporting from the work being done currently in St. Petersburg, Florida and coming to Oakland, CA will be Ironiff Ifoma, the President of the African People's Education and Defense Fund.

President Ifoma declares that, “this economic crisis should serve as a wake-up call that our community must get organized to meet our own needs, with our own self-reliant programs and institutions.”
