Action Alert: Wild & Scenic Protection for California Rivers

Two decades of legislative advocacy is now coming to an important vote. Your Congressional Representative will be voting - any day - whether to preserve and protect more than 105 miles of wild and scenic rivers and more than 750,000 acres of wilderness in California (through S.22).

On January 15, the Senate passed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act (S.22). The legislative package will protect wild and scenic rivers in the eastern Sierra, White Mountains, Mojave Desert, northern San Gabriel Mountains, and San Jacinto Mountains of southern California. Now S.22 heads to the House of Representatives where we are expecting a vote within weeks. Passage could be very close and your Representative is a key vote on this important rivers protection bill.
