One Down, One to Go: Oakland Police Chief Wayne Tucker Resigns; DA Orloff Should Be Next

by keep on fightin!
While the corrupt Oakland PD is currently being investigated by the FBI for both a beating death and shady search warrants, Police Chief Wayne Tucker laughably claimed, "The men and women who put on the uniform and represent the city are held to high standards of ethical conduct and performance." A man murdered by OPD almost 10 years ago still has seen no justice and cops were caught falsifying requests for search warrants. The FBI is investigating both. How many more police crimes like these are not being investigated by the FBI, internal affairs, or anyone at all for that matter? How many murderers, liars, and thieves with badges are out there right now? Tucker didn't seem to care to find the answers as he was busy promoting crooked Internal Affairs captains.
Oakland police chief to resign
(01-27) 10:16 PST OAKLAND --

Oakland Police Chief Wayne Tucker, whose department has been rocked by a series of scandals and embarrassments in recent months, said today that he will resign next month....

Tucker said at a news conference at Oakland City Hall that he will step down Feb. 28 after serving more than four years as chief. His announcement came several hours before four City Council members planned to declare their plans to hold a no-confidence vote in Tucker.

The chief serves at the pleasure of Mayor Ron Dellums, who said he accepted Tucker's resignation with regret.
