LET GAZA LIVE-- EPCC
Los Angeles—The Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC) congratulates and highly commends the militant action of all the individuals and organizations that joined the thousands who came out for the emergency response and mobilization last night, January 6, 2008 at the Israeli Embassy.
Their all out support and their militant call to STOP THE MASSACRE OF GAZA and FREE PALESTINE! reverberates throughout the world. Not only on the streets of Los Angeles
Despite the heavy police presence with the mounted cavalry and motorcyle corps as well as the full armed anti-riot platoons, the protestors led by ANSWER-LA stood their ground and held a peaceful protest despite the haranguing of pro-Israeli Zionist counter demonstrators.
The majority pro-Palestinian demonstrators occupied both sides of the streets and later the whole Wilshire street until the Zionist were forced to walk away and gave grounds in front of the Israeli consulate and opposite sidewalks.
The EPCC also learned that sympathy demonstrations were held in Manila. Philippines, Britain, Canada, The Netherlands and other parts of the world. More demonstrations were held in major cities of the United States like San Francisco and New York.
More actions are slated. ANSWER LA and the Free Palestine Alliance (FPA)) scheduled another march protest. On Saturday, January 10 at 12:00 noon in front of the Westwood Federal building, 11000 Wilshire/Veterans street.
