Environmental Justice and Human Rights take on San Francisco's unsustainable developments.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors would not know it - nor would Mayor Gavin Newsom that the Bay Area Air Quality Management District gave San Francisco an F - for its very dirty air.

Mayor Gavin Newsom has been in bed with the Lennar Corporation that has killed our children and elders in the Bayview. Recently, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) fined Lennar - Five hundred and fifteen thousand dollars for polluting Bayview Hunters Point.

The real amount should have been thirty eight million for the over three hundred and eighty days of violations. But, Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, and other dubious evil people like Willie L. Brown Jr. used their political influence - to silence the truth.

At Hunters Point as it is at Mission Bay - Methane Gas spews into the air. At a conservative thirty tons of Methane Gas per year - multiply that by twenty two - and you get six hundred and sixty tons of Carbon Dioxide. Why twenty two - because that is a magic number.

One ton of Methane Gas equals twenty two tons of Carbon Dioxide.

Mission Bay is land fill and those in the know - full comprehend that millions of ton of toxic dirt lie buried at Mission Bay - because the Regional Water Board - did what Willie L. Brown Jr. wanted them to do.

The Santa Fe operations at Sacramento, Mission Bay, Oakland, and other places were similar. At Sacramento over a million tons of toxic dirt were removed - at Oakland some four hundred tons of toxic dirt.

In San Francisco by Forth and King and the surround area - millions of tons of toxic dirt were buried. Some taken from the high ground and put in the low ground. Many buildings at Mission Bay have problems with their basements - fungi and toxic fumes.

At Hunters Point one has just to read the Final Historical Radiological Assessment Report. I know Mayor Gavin Newsom has not read it. I know for sure Senator Diane Feinstein has not read it. I really know for sure Congressperson Nancy Pelosi - has not read it.

At Hunters Point - we have Methane well that daily release Methane Gas into the air. There is an on going under-ground fire. There was a major fire in the year 2000 that went on burning for over a month. No Risk Assessment was done by the San Francisco Health Department.

At Hunters Point we have Radiological Elements - over 80 that have high readings that adversely impact any living being. I say that because in the books of this City and County of San Francisco we have the Precautionary Principle - but, no one in their rabid ass mind at City Hall - thinks about reading it - less mandating it.

Depleted Uranium was first tested at Hunters Point. Is anyone paying attention to this fact? Ninety five percent of Hunters Point is Landfill. Is anyone paying attention to this fact? What about Liquefaction? What about Global Warming and the rising of the tides and flooding?

Recently some out of State attorneys conducted a Work Shop linked with Environmental Justice and Human Rights.

The world is paying attention to Human Rights - and the United Nations has it all laid out - in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that Mayor Gavin Newsom has not read at all.

In Europe higher standards linked to discrimination and cumulative pollution have been laid.

Europeans have enacted into law the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). American has yet to ponder about this - and San Francisco is way behind - some will have heard this for the first time.

The world is small and so America - more so now that its Economy plight is pathetic and has failed - will turn to those countries that can now point the finger in the right direction - and we must listen.

American has failed to maintain decorum and has been booed at many World Environmental Forums - that happened in Brazil and South Africa - but also in Japan. Here, at home we spew more Carbon Dioxide into the air while pointing fingers at China and India.

Here is San Francisco we can capture dirty particulates coming all the way from China - but our City and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District - will not reveal in detail the worst air that we have in and around Bayview Hunters Point - generated in our back yard.

Daily the millions of vehicles that ply - pollute the air. The Concrete and Aggregate Companies spew the worse pollutants in the air - Hunters Point is a Superfund Site and the Clean up has to be done - we do not want capping of the land - but Mayor Gavin Newsom is for it.

Outside Hunters Point - there are over four hundreds and fifty toxic hot-spots that the City and County of San Francisco - should clean up and has not. Mayor Gavin Newsom talks the talk but fails to walk the walk.

The Department of Toxic and Substances Control knows about this facts. So, does the Environmental Protection Agency - the worst lying Federal Agency in San Francisco that has done NOTHING for the people of the Bayview Hunters Point.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) fined Lennar a measly five hundred and fifteen thousand dollars - and thinks it did great.

At one meeting not even the BAAQMD Board Members were aware of this fact. The deal was done behind close doors.

Well, the community held a great Work Shop - attorneys from all over the Nation as helping us - constituents from the Bayview Hunters Point.

Of course the famous organization based in San Francisco that are doling out awards to folks on Environmental Projects and Issues - to folks from all over the world. Little knowing that they have the worst scenario - right here in their Back Yard.

We - in the Bayview Hunters Point do not want their Blood Money. But, we have to state the facts - the hypocrites that belong to these Funding Organizations.
