Stop Lennar Action Movement (SLAM) grows stronger while Lennar falls by the way side.

by Francisco Da Costa
Stop Lennar Action Movement (SLAM) grows stronger by the day - while Lennar the Rogue Company keeps declaring bankruptcies all over the place. In the over two and half years that SLAM has been meeting at the Grace Tabernacle Community Church - the decent forces and constituents have grown and keep growing. We have students and youth - joining us and what is more - we get support and letters of encouragement from all over the United States.
Stop Lennar Action Movement (SLAM) was formed over two and half years ago. Every day we get supporters from all walks of life and especially the youth and students wanting to join SLAM and work to prevent any Rogue Developers from harming the community.

Foremost - the Rogue Company - Lennar.

Our leaders stated from the inception that our movement was a Spiritual Movement and not a Religious movement. We embrace every one and people from every denomination.

At our Town Hall Meetings held at Grace Tabernacle Community Church at 1121 Oakdale Avenue - Ingalls and Oakdale Avenue in the Bayview - you will find Samoans, Asians, Whites, Blacks, Latinos, Native Americans, decent folks - children, women, and men of good faith.

It has been a pleasure to see the youth from the various Colleges and Universities. Leading the colleges and universities - State University - students will come faithfully to our Town Hall meetings, every Thursday at 6:30 pm. And what is more volunteer to help the community - as and when the need arises.

Kudos to our youth from the Muhammad University and the Nation of Islam that have been with us from the inception.

Kudos to the Sisters and Brothers and to Minister Christopher Muhammad. Brother Marks, Miles, Leon, Anthony, Eric, and a host of others have been very inspirational in their dedication and support.

We could not have done much with the support of Bishop Ernest Jackson and First Lady Doris Jackson. They opened the door and helped this Spiritual Movement at Ground Zero - just a few hundred feet from Parcel A. Grace Tabernacle Community Church is now on the world map as being a center that made a change and gave a vision to the world - when it comes to discrimination and racial injustice - more environmental injustice.

Lynne Brown has been faithful to open the doors and faithfully maintain the Church - he sees that all is in place and that those that need help - get what they must need.

People Organized to Win Employment Rights (POWER) Jessie, Alicia, Jaron, Larry, and so many - have been there with us from day one. Kudos to POWER and we will all miss that warrior Jessie Powell - who passed away but will be with us in Spirit - all through our struggle.

All Islanders Gathering As One (AIGA1) has been there when we need support. They are a force to be reckoned with. Kudos to Gaynor, Bro, Nane, Tina, Ika, and the many more that are in your ranks.

Recently when Lennar was fined $515,000 it sent a message to the Rogue Pastors that are in bed with Lennar. You folks - supposed to be shepherds have deserted the sheep - to make money and fall for ploys that will ruin your souls.

Lucky for us we have Archbishop Franzo King, Bishop Ernest Jackson, Pastor Joe and Santana, Pastor Daniel Solberg, and many others that support us - and have NOT sold the community out.

Our community leaders are many Espanola Jackson, Willie Ratcliff, Mary Ratcliff, Marie Harrison, Daniel Landry, Alicia, Jaron, Jessie, Larry, Brothers Miles, Marks, Anthony, Leon, Eric, the many Sisters of the Nation of Islam, Lynne Brown - and too many more.

Lennar is on the run and with the present Economic Crisis shadowing its own fiscal crisis - housing at its lowest - fore-closures galore - sinking in the cesspool of its own making.

SLAM has God to look forward to - we share the belief that if you have a fine tuned moral compass you will go to a better place.
