The Art of Compassionate Listening (6 wk series starts)
Empathy is defined as the capacity to recognize another's state of mind or emotion. It is often characterized as the ability to "put oneself in another's shoes". Metaphorically, it can be described as emotional mirroring or resonance. Empathy is linked to your physiology and neurology and is essential to sustaining life. This six week course provides an opportunity to increase your listening and empathy skills using a variety of exercises, games, small group work, journaling, and role plays. Increasing your empathy skills can transform and heal your relationship with self and others.
6 week series - Wednesdays, September 3 - October 8, 7-9pm Online registration available.
This workshop is lead by NVC Santa Cruz trainer Christine King, certified with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
