Join the West Coast PEACE TRAIN to DC Jan 15 in Sacramento or at any of 34 stops the California Zephyr makes between the West Coast to Chicago, or any of 16 stops after we transfer to the Capitol Limited on the 17th, arriving in Washington DC around noon on the 18th to attend the presidential inaugural on the 20th.

PEACE TRAIN to DC Mission

The mission of the PEACE TRAIN to DC is to demonstrate this Green Travel Option and to meet with our Representatives in Congress to express our support for 1) A “New Athena Passenger Rail Project” and 2) A National Speed Limit for all motor vehicles.

Our message is that Conservation Works and is key to long-term sustainability.

Calling all social action groups! Please plan to send representatives of your group to join the PEACE TRAIN to DC as spokespeople for your group.

Calling all activists with talents to share! The PEACE TRAIN to DC needs you and your talent.

Join the PEACE TRAIN to DC Jan 15 in Sacramento or at at any of 34 stops the California Zephyr makes between the West Coast to Chicago, or any of 16 stops after we transfer to the Capitol Limited on the 17th, arriving in Washington DC around noon on the 18th.

We need everyone’s talents to emerge along the way. Here is a partial list of ideas, can you take the lead on something?
- Outreach to fellow passengers
- Music unplugged, solo or in small bands
- Performance Artists/Street Theatre
- Poetry & Reading
- Issues Training - in depth with time for questions
- Protest Training - learn and plan for safe, effective protest and actions

Jet contrails and emissions double the greenhouse effect of burning fossil fuels on the surface.

Most locomotives in service now could readily run on vegetable oil pulling trains in excess of 100 MPH.
