9/11 Dust and Deceit at The World Trade Center (59 min) 2007
By Penny Little (She will be attending)
The impact of the environmental disaster after 911 will continue for years. The health of those who were exposed to the toxic dust and told that the “air is safe to breathe” and the continuing cover-up of the problems has not been adequately reported in the mainstream media. Those who were most affected are often the least able to get the help they need.

The Toxic Clouds of 9/11: A Looming Health Disaster (66 min) 2006
By Allison Johnson
In this absorbing video we see the effect of the chemicals and toxins released into the environment by the collapse of the WTO towers. Despite the growing risk from these dangerous substances EPA director Christie Todd Whitman told the workers involved in the cleanup after the collapse that everything was safe to breath and later that it was safe for residents to return. The catastrophe and cover-up of 9/11 health costs is still going on for the workers, people who went to help and those who lived in the neighborhood.

Laborfest: Red State Rebels @ Modern Times Bookstore
With contributors Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Rose Aguilar, Sol Landau and
Joshua Frank with James Tracy moderating.
This book presentation will focus on the rebels who are exposing the
stereotype of the Red States that the media has propagated. The
authors ague that a rebellion has been building for years in these
states and is about to get much bigger with struggles of food, water,
wilderness and human liberty.
This book offers just a few snapshots of the grassroots resistance
taking place in the forgotten heartland of America. These are tales of
rebellion and courage. Out here activism isn't for the faint of heart.
Be thankful someone is willing to do the dirty work.

Social Experiments at Abundance League: THIS Thursday, 6pm July 17th, as Michael Vav leads a discussion
about social creativity - in a new venue (see below for details).
Michael has designed and lead a hundred "social experiments" - from Funeral
Lotteries to Mobile Mystery Cabaret - that are "intentional interactions and
awareness adventures that induce insight as an antidote to a life on autopilot."
In his words:
"At the Abundance League, I'll guide us in creating simple ways to unlock more
connection, inspiration and playfulness with the people in our lives.
I'll share about how people's lives are enriched from participating in social
experiments. Then we'll co-create an intentional interaction or two. We'll distill
where these subtle shifts of what we're doing, and how we're being, unlock more
connection, inspiration and playfulness than life on autopilot. Then we'll discuss
ways we can easily carry this spark from orchestrated scenarios and into real-time
day-today interactions in any area of our lives.
Let's take lil' risks to yield lots of aliveness.
Let's trade in small talk for inspired conversation.
Let's swap out complacent patterns for fresh playfulness.
Let's invent ways to get out of default mode, and choose something new in
our home lives
our work worlds
our lifestyles
our alone time."
And as always, come ready to talk about your passions, needs, and gifts
(in under two minutes) during announcements so that we can help each other
create the lives and communities of our dreams – right here in reality.
Leaguers Kim Connector and Bosco will be facilitating.

Non-violent Civil Disobedience training against the LBAM Trapping & Eradication program in Berkeley.
The California and U.S. Department of Agriculture's LBAM pesticide program has not been canceled. The aerial spraying is scheduled to continue over whatever undisclosed areas the government considers "non-urban" as early as August 17. Meanwhile ground applications of the same synthetic "pheromone" are to continue in the form of 250 twist ties per acre, goop mixed with permethrin insecticide on 3000 utility poles and trees per square mile, and thousands of toxic sticky traps targeting neighborhoods for expansion of the pesticide program, all designed to saturate our air supply continuously for years to come. The door has also been left wide open for ground spraying of other toxic chemical cocktails. The traps and twist ties have been going up already, and we are told the utility pole applications are to begin in September.

you will have the feeling you wish you could be there :)
DO not attempt to leave monday and spend 5hours in traffic jam dust.
Monday is for hotsprings.
Tuesday you can goto Pyramid lake for another party.
Wednesday you can go home.

BRING: Aloe Vera leaves, break off, carry with: good for sunburns
Big hats for sun protection. Layers. Hydration rig. Bike bottles or camelback.
Fill up your 5 gallon bottles and 1 gallon water bottles at Donner Pass Rest stop 20 miles West of border.

This is such an important plant for preventing a sunburn AFTER the fact!
If you get sunburned break off a leaf. Squeeze the big end, rub it onto your skin. Take leaf camping.

)'( if you are going to Burning Man and would like
to do some magic in the sound Healing Yurt in Entheon village.
Below are the links on the project and the vision of the space.
I would love to bring together as many healers, sound healers and performers interested in being involved in this amazing sacred sound immersions project being created by Pantheogenesis in Entheon Village at Burning Man. Please let me know. There will be a lot of opportunities as you know the hours are 24/7 for 7 days! It is all volunteer as is in the spirit of Burning Man. If you have already planned to be there perhaps you will be inspired to add this to your schedule or activities Other wise perhaps you will be inspired to be there now! As you know Entheon village is a High Profile Project, located on the Esplanade. Alex Grey had his art and did lectures there in 2006. Please contact dianaemaxwell [at] gmail.com if you are interested If you know of anyone you think might be interested please feel free to forward this to them! Blessings!
