TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT YOU REALLY REALLY WANT
Often, when we try to tell our partners what we like or want, those words are filtered through things like expectations, projection, fear, shame and verbal shortcuts. Expand your creativity and verbal skills beyond "I like flogging" or "anything you want" through an interactive game and exercise. Learn how creative communication and courageous risk-taking can make your relationship and play more intimate, satisfying and fun. Communicate fantasies in a way that will inspire reality; say what you mean, and mean what you say – and make it seductive.

Post Carbon Marin Planning Meeting
Who: Post Carbon Marin
What: Identify key areas to focus on to prepare for peak oil
When: Wednesday April 30, 2008, 7pm to 9pm
Where: Home of Jonathan Frieman, 170 Oak Drive, San Rafael, CA, 94901
Link to Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/2eo6lc
Parking: the small amount of parking will fill up quickly so please arrive early to park along the road.
Ridesharing: Please post your ride at
http://www.rideamigos.com if you can offer a ride.
Don't be shy about splitting gas money...we'll be doing a lot of that soon.
Direct questions to: Jonathan Frieman -- yogi [at] well.com
Why was Post Carbon Marin formed?
Worldwide oil production is very close to beginning its inexorable decline. It will impact almost every part of our lives, from food production to how we earn and spend money.
What happened at the first meeting?
Residents from all over Marin came to learn the very latest about oil and natural gas. We also started to discuss how we might prepare while creating a thriving community.
What will we do at this meeting?
We'll discuss how to organize ourselves; we'll launch some initiatives and provide updates on others already in process (we've begun to collect infrastructure information for the county: how old are the water/sewer pipes, etc.).
Where is Post Carbon Marin on the Net?
You'll find us at http://postcarbonmarin.relocalize.net
To be notified of future events, register at Relocalize.net, then visit http://postcarbonmarin.relocalize.net and click "Join this Group."
I still don't see what the big deal is...what's peak oil?
See the peak oil primer here:

35.0 km for our planet http://350ride.googlepages.com
35.0 kilometers. 350 cyclists. 3 May 2008. 5:50pm. Justin Herman Plaza.
should the number 350 deserve a special notation in our collective consciousness? It is the target for the amount of carbon dioxide (in parts per million) that our atmosphere can maintain to survive over time, according to Dr. James E. Hansen, director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. Currently we have 384 ppm in our atmosphere and it is increasing at an annual rate of about 1.5 ppm per year with current predictions at 500 ppm by the year 2050 and likely over 700 ppm by 2100. To compare, the amount of carbon in the atmosphere is up from 315 ppm in 1958 and around 275 ppm prior to America's Industrial Revolution in the eighteenth century.
So, what's the plan? For starters, come to the race with the number 350 on your person, your bike, your helmet, wherever you want. This number is the focus of this ride. Also, bring a pen and SCRATCH paper. There will be opportunities for you to learn how to make less of an environmental impact and what exciting opportunities 350 can mean for you! The route will be through highly visible and populated areas of San Francisco with opportunities to stop and chat with "the locals" whenever you deem appropriate.
Bring someone. Why come alone? Sure you'll meet many cool new people, but rides are always fun with friends and loved ones. Bring the kids. Bring your friend who would, but doesn't have a bike. (I'm sure you can ask your cool biker friends for a loaner!) Bring that special person that gives you the butterflies for a sober, socially-enriching, and parental-approving occasion!
