This May, a record number of 170 artists will be opening their
doors to the public. Come out and gain a new appreciation for
the arts, meet artists personally, buy art at great prices, and
come away energized and refreshed by your encounter with
this unique and continually evolving artist community.

Nestled along a private stretch of the scenic San Francisco Bay,
the dramatic historic setting of this Open Studio is a former naval
shipyard. With over 250 studios spread out across 8 buildings, the
reclaimed buildings are now ideal incubators for the artists who
have called this place home for more than two decades. As plans
for the Shipyard's redevelopment continue, the artists' colony is
pleased to remain a prominent part of San Francisco's vision for
the site.

Several Shipyard artists will hold preview parties on May 2, in
addition to the main event in Gallery 101. A list of preview parties
and their locations will be available in the Shipyard Art Guide.

A Family-Friendly event, Open Studios features inviting outdoors
areas along the Bay and on-site food vendors, enabling visitors to
spend all day perusing this unique arts destination.
