Thursday April 10: Free Movie!! Lonely are the Brave (1962)
Based on a novel by Edward Abbey, Lonely Are the Brave is a leftist western.
Its hero, flawlessly portrayed by Kirk Douglas, is John W. Burns, a cowboy
anarchist who carries no ID, respects no authority, and pays attention
only to his friends and his horse. When his oldest friend is jailed for
giving aid to illegal immigrants, Burns deliberately gets himself arrested
in an attempt to break his friend out of jail. His friend refuses to go,
so Burns winds up on the run from the law by himself. Always polite,
always fair, always a “fuck you” to those above him, the brave cowboy
deals with many issues that matter now: individual freedom versus
authoritarian clampdowns, the criminalization of sanctuary for “illegal
aliens,” ID cards, military helicopters in border manhunts, and an
increasingly militarized and regimented America. 9 pm

Olympic Torch Run & Protest WebCast!!
http://sanfrancisco.tribe.net/event/d6cd56d8-7367-4fb0-b7c9-8de3bc1595fd
Location: The Streets of San Francisco!!
Tune in for a special Olympic Torch Run and protest coverage by
http://www.d7tv.com which will be broadcasting LIVE on
http://www.OlympicTorchSF.com as the Olympic Torch makes its way through the streets of San Francisco on Wednesday, April 9th around 1pm... ish. Depends on when the runner actually runs.
I will also be doing a special Global Climate Update on China's plan to "guarantee" sunshine by promising to "manufacture good weather." What could go wrong? Besides China's recent winter snow storm that was the worst in 50 years which devastated the country, stranded over a million Chinese, and required over 300,000 government troops to keep the peace just this past winter.... um... does the term "silver argyria poisoning" mean anything to you?
Tune in Wednesday and catch my special Global Climate Update on:

Nude Torch Run - San Francisco - April 9 - Invitation
12:30 pm sharp near the front of Tacqueria Pancho Villa
Pier 1, the Embarcadero (waterfront side)
the next building north of the Ferry Building
Look for torch(es) labeled "Human Rights"
After the Official Run passes (estimate 1:10 pm), we will jog/walk fast to Bay/Embarcadero. When the Official Torch Run returns from the Marina District, we will follow the Official Run to the closing ceremony at Justin Herman Plaza. I estimate the total distance at a little over one mile.
We are not exactly a protest.
We are positively pointing out:
1. The original Olympic Athletes participated nude and
2. We support Human Rights everywhere
The original Olympic athletes covered themselves with olive oil. I will bring Baby Oil for those who wish the look.
Optional: Make a faux-torch, or two, labeled "Human Rights." If you don't have one, don't worry. I am happy to relay a torch to you. Note: Don't bother with a real flame because of Fire Marshall and permit issues.
Be sure to pass on this invitation to all interested parties.
If you have any questions, contact:

BEHIND EVERY TERRORIST THERE IS A BUSH
This funny documentary is nevertheless one of the
best 911 truth films. It does something that none
of the other 911 truth films do: it shows us that
there's a large movement out there. It shows us
that there's a rational, valid, and organized voice
rightfully questioning the 'war on terror' and the
event (9/11) that sparked it. The stand-up comics
and stage artists in this film are both hilarious
and compellingly informative. The music by David
Rovics is fantastic and overall the film is just
alive with energy and inspiration. It manages to
connect to people through humor above all which
is very powerful and which would resonate with
anyone. Before and after the film, everyone's invited
to indulge in our Humanist Tea House $5 donations accepted

Ecology Center 2530 San Pablo Ave Berkeley (@ Dwight, NEAR GOOD VIBRATIONS http://GOODVIBES.COM )
East Bay Pesticide Alert and Don\'t Spray California present a forum on the Light Brown Apple Moth. Will the light brown apple moth prove to be the invasive threat to California agriculture that the USDA claims it to be, or have agricultural damages been grossly exaggerated? What will happen to local organics if the California Department of Food and Agriculture is allowed to follow through on their proposal to douse the Bay Area with pesticides month in and month out for years to come? Should the vulnerabilities created by conventional agricultural practices be an excuse for eradication projects that put public and environmental health at risk?
Come hear about alternative approaches from:
• Agroecologist and UC Berkeley professor Miguel Altier
• Mayor of Albany and registered nurse Robert Lieber
• Farmers Robert Shultz and Ames Morison, and healthcare worker John Davis.
Find out about the spray plan, alternatives to it, and ways you can get involved!

April 20th: 'Dealing Dogs' and Fund raiser for Stop UCB Vivisection
On Sunday, April 20th, there will be a film showing of the HBO
documentary "Dealing Dogs". This film tells the story of an undercover
activist who helped shut down one of the most notorious dog breeding
facilities in the US. This breeder sold dogs to vivisection labs
including ones at the University of California. There will also be a
discussion about the campaign to stop the building of a new vivisection
lab at UC Berkeley which will house 70% more animals. There will also
be yummy vegan food.
This is a benefit and 100% of donations will go to defray legal costs.
Details: Sunday April 20th 7pm

Bush, Sr. killed JFK because JFK saved Cuba from the CIA invasion.
Bush stole the 68 elections, but Democrats never complain about that.
JFK ordered troops out of Vietnam. This caused the CIA to shoot JFK,
so they could invade Vietnam. http://members.tripod.com/paulkangas You tube: paul8kangas

We support a strike by the soldiers. Did Bush sr. Kill JFK? How does that effect the election 2008?
My name is Paul Kangas. I am the Vice President for Veteran for Peace.
It will take a strike by
front line GI's, as happened in Vietnam & during WWI to stop this war.
We need to reach out to young boys, age 9 & recruit them into the anti-war movement. I joined the peace movement when I was age 9.
Then I was drafted. In the Navy, at age 19 in 1961, I helped organize a strike against the Bay of Pigs. Thanks of President Kennedy, the invasion of Cuba was stopped. After than, I got orders to go to Vietnam in 1963. Again I refused to go to war. I was then sent to Iceland for a year of
punishment duty. Kennedy then ordered all US troops out of Vietnam, Executive Order 263. Bush then killed JFK.
There was a movie made about strikes by front line troops, in WWI, called Merry Christmas. Have you seen the movie? Most vets have seen the movie. It is quite powerful.
Meet Paul Kangas, on 4-23-08, Herbst Theater, Rm 215, 401 VanNess & McAllister, 6pm, slideshow on the Bay of Pigs, the JFK assassination & the 2008 election.
Hear Paul Thur 4-3-08, KPOO, 89 fm, 1pm on the King assassination & the 2008 election & why neither Obama nor Clinton can stop this war, unless them want to be assassinated.
We support a strike by the soldiers. Paul Kangas,

9 pm

Find out about the spray plan, alternatives to it, and ways you can get involved!

discussion about the campaign to stop the building of a new vivisection
lab at UC Berkeley which will house 70% more animals. There will also
be yummy vegan food.
This is a benefit and 100% of donations will go to defray legal costs.

Bush, Sr. killed JFK because JFK saved Cuba from the CIA invasion.
