DUBOIS ST. (HARVEY WEST PARK AREA): Go down River St.- cross Hightway 1- turn left at Encinal St. (at traffic light) - turn left at Dubois St. (at 2nd stop sign)- we will be in a field on the right

This is a film that we showed in our first GDI season, over 5 years ago.  Since we don't like to repeat films for our regular series, we thought it would be a good idea to resurrect some of our past favorites at a midnight movie showing (maybe The Third Man in the coming weeks?).  If you went to the first GDI screening of Repo Man let us know, and in fact we encourage folks to share stories with each other...tales of your punk present or past... other midnight memories... plans for adventure and mayhem and so on. Sit close to each other as its bound to get chilly, and away we go...

REPO MAN

AT MIDNIGHT- FRIDAY APRIL 11TH
DUBOIS ST. (HARVEY WEST PARK AREA)

Don't miss the punk rock shorts at 11:45!

Now-classic punk fable of Otto, the newly hired repossession man. Off beat film has a little of everything:
action, comedy, urban decay, police drama, mystery, governmental conspiracy and even UFO's.
Story centers on Otto's search for a mysterious Malibu carrying an odd cargo.

The 1984 film draws on the experiences of director Alex Cox, who worked briefly as a repo man in Los Angeles, but soon deviates into the surreal with aliens, the CIA, punk rocker thieves and other strange characters and situations, all amid a long string of running gags and almost-impossible coincidences.

BRING lawn chairs, blankets, pillows, friends, drink, & food to share for intermission. Dress warmly.  Donations are greatly appreciated and directly support the project. (We are currently paying for new equipment.)

URBAN WASTELAND LOCATIO
N:  go down River St.- cross Hightway 1- turn left at Encinal St. (at traffic light) - turn left at Dubois St. (at 2nd stop sign)- we will be in a field on the right

SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theatre under the stars that springs up unexpectedly in the fields and industrial wastelands. Beyond showing great movies and bringing a broad community together, part of our mission is helping reclaim public space and breaking down this urban environment.  www.guerilladrivein.org
