Bill Monning Picks Up Key Labor Endorsements for 27th Assembly Run

Bill Monning Sweeps Key Labor Endorsements
A broad range of labor groups across the region have unanimously endorsed Bill Monning for California’s 27th Assembly District. The Monterey Bay Central Labor Council on March 14th voted to recommend Bill Monning to the California Labor Federation for their endorsement at their April 8th convention. The Central Labor Council represents 60 AFL-CIO and Change to Win labor unions on California's central coast and has 30,000 members. Upon announcing the endorsement, Cesar Lara, Executive Director, Monterey Bay Central Labor Council, said,
“After long conversations with all the candidates, looking over their credentials, we’ve unanimously decided that Bill Monning’s leadership and experience would be a great asset to the Monterey Bay area. Bill is the kind of voice we need to represent working families in Sacramento.”
In addition, the South Bay Central Labor Council, which represents workers in Santa Clara County, and has 110,000 members, endorsed Monning. Monning also picked up the endorsement of the SEIU Local 521 at their March meeting. The SEIU Local 521 represents more than 45,600 workers in public sector services from Silicon Valley to Santa Cruz, and Monterey to the Central Valley. The California Professional Firefighters Association also endorsed Bill Monning for the 27th Assembly. The group represents 30,000 firefighters statewide.

California Professional Firefighter’s Association (PFA) : Represents 30,000 firefighters statewide.
United Transportation Union
South Bay Central Labor Council: Represents workers in Santa Clara County, and has 110,000 members.
Unite /HERE Local 483: Represents over 1,700 hospitality workers on the Monterey Bay at more than three dozen hotels, restaurants, and golf course
Operating Engineers Local 3: Represents 41,000 members in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Hawaii and Utah, the largest construction trades local in the United States.
Teamsters Joint Council 7: Representing 70,000 members.
California Teachers Association: Represents 340,000 employees of California’s schools, colleges and universities.
