Offended by fellow peaceniks?

To my fellow progressives, greens, queers, and libertarians,

ANSWER complains that certain communities
( at the Civic Center anti-war rally)
will be offended by
nudists demonstrating for peace.


Such communities include
certain religious sects,
such as traditionalist Christians and Muslims,
who might also be offended by open queerness
("celebrating sin", instead of asking Allah for forgiveness).
Will ANSWER protect their delicate sensibilities
by asking queers
to leave those rainbow flags at home?
In the interests of bland censored "unity"?


Many progressives are offended by
the overt sexism and homophobia
of the Vatican.
So are Roman Catholic groups
still welcome?


Since BEFORE the U.S. invasion of Iraq,
I've walked (often nude) in San Francisco peace marches
alongside many protesters whose policies
offend my values deeply.
These included political sects which supported
the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan;
and many who deliberately ignore genocide in Darfur and in Tibet.
Plus religious sects which applaud "honor killings" of women and queers.


Should I boycott these demonstrations,
because I disapprove of certain participants,
and even certain mis-leaders?


How can this green libertarian queer
march placidly with
Stalinists, homophobes, and fascists?


By ignoring them.
