It's Official--Berkeley is a Medical Cannabis Sanctuary City!
The Berkeley City Council UNANIMOUSLY passed the Medical Cannabis Sanctuary
Resolution co-sponsored by Councilmembers Moore and Worthington, thereby designating
Berkeley a "sanctuary for medicinal cannabis patients, providers, and landlords" and
calling on the Governor to prevent further interference by the DEA in the
implementation of state and local laws.

Dear friends,
Tonight we celebrate a significant victory!

I will be sending a more complete report tomorrow, including an analysis of what
remains to be done in Berkeley (and beyond) to ensure that the DEA ends its unjust
war against us.
So much work still lies ahead--but in the same way that we have all appreciated the
occasional sunny breaks in the rainstorms sweeping through the Bay Area, let us all
take a moment now to savor this momentous step toward a better future for medical
cannabis advocates in Berkeley and statewide.
Be well, stay strong,
