LIGHT BROWN APPLE MOTH - ( LBAM ) FACTS

· State and Federal Officials overreact to LBAM and has initiated a massive multi-county pesticide spray with low flying planes.

· LBAM has caused virtually no crop damage in the Monterey Bay area. The damage incurred to growers is from restrictions and quarantines put in by State and Federal agencies.

· The LBAM has a max fly radius of 1.5 miles and yet the 6-day spray will be over residential areas.

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F is a pesticide by the EPA's own definition.

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F product label states it's a "biochemical".

· You will be sprayed with a biochemical pesticide over your homes for 6 straight nights 11/4-11/9 several times a year until 2010.

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F is a biochemical pesticide that will linger in the air for 30 days.

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F Warning Label states "Hazard to Humans and Domestic Animals. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin eyes or clothing. Harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist." Their warning label also states it's "Environmental Hazard - Do not apply to water or areas where surface water is present…"

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F will contaminate our water supply, the open ocean and the Monterey Bay Sanctuary.

· Steve Hartmeier president of Suterra, makers of CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM , refuses to disclose all of the agents in the pesticide they will be on spraying you.

· CheckMate OLR-F/LBAM-F has only undergone short-term tests on rats and rabbits and results prove positive for adverse reactions. Suterra states "No Long-term studies on the concentrated active ingredients have not been done..." We are to be the human guinea pigs

· During a 3-day LBAM spray over Monterey an 11-month-old baby got sick and was admitted to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for severe respiratory problems
